We had bunnies in our backyard this morning.

I hope THOSE up there don't turn into these:  :buggedout: :buggedout:

I guess I better do as the Rev. says and make stew out of them - before they make stew out of me!   :teddyr:

Save me some stew, please.

Me: "I was reading my diary from 2000, and I sure said some dumbass things."

My cousin: "So you haven't changed much, huh?"

I kind of walked into that one...

Last evening my mother-in-law, who is staying with us for a week while her husband and son go fishing up north, took my little girl to the stylist and got her hair cut. Just did it. No asking me, no warning, just....did it. So my six-year-old now has what my MIL cheerfully calls "a summer bob." I find when I'm at my maddest I show it the least, and had to really tell myself hard that if I held my MIL down and shaved her bald with clippers, which oh my god I wanted to do, it wouldn't un-do things. So I smiled and told my daughter how pretty she looked, and mediated emptily on when revenge becomes justice, knowing full well nothing was going to come of this, she was going to get away with it. My younger self never would have been able to stand being put in check like this. Maybe I'm maturing.

Or turning wimp.

My own mother can be equally high-handed.  It's a gift.  Sometimes I wish I had it; but then I would have to be that person and...well.

I cannot think of anything I dislike more than the internal conflict between how I really want to react and self-restraint.  Being civilised can be SO unsatisfying!  Give it time: revenge is a dish best served cold - or so I heard somewhere.  I have faith in your ability to wait for the perfect opportunity.  It will be worth it.

I took my wife to see Rifftrax Live (The Room) at our local theater last night.  We had A LOT of fun.  I hope I can take her back see some more.  What I was really surprised about is that there was a couple behind us, who had NEVER seen The Room before.  What were they doing there?!
This is my awesome signature.  Jealous?

My cousin's fifteen-year-old son came out to her not long ago by saying he wanted to tell her he was gay. So she started in with how adolescence is a confusing time, etc, etc, and he interrupted to add, "Mom, almost every day for the last three months I been having sex with this boy from school named Justin." She was like, "Oh. Oh! Well OK, I guess you're right then."  :bouncegiggle:

If it's only ALMOST every day it might just be a phase.

As a loyal viewer of CSPAN's Prime Minster's Questions, I hope Ed Miliband doesn't win. I wouldn't care so much if Labour won, I just don't want Ed Miliband to become Prime Minister. (Yes, I know I have no chicken in the race, but still...)
