Ok, I know I'll be reviled for saying this but I absolutely love this movie!
It brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

I've always thought Tom Green was hilarious.
With Green you either love or totally hate his style of humor.
I love it!

I don't know what it is about "FGF" but I can watch it over & over again and still laugh non-stop at and with it.
I would venture to guess that I've seen it at least 10 times.

I've watched it with other people who had never seen it before and told them beforehand that I thought it was funny as hell and after about 20 minutes they look at me and say, "This movie is f**king retarded!"

I disagree.

Yes, while it may indeed be regarded as "stupid & retarded" by many, I'm definitely not one of them.
I think it was perfectly cast...especially with Rip Torn as the dad.
The scene where Harlan Williams wipes out & Green licks the protruding bone from his knee had me in tears when I first saw it!

There are so many funny lines that I love to quote from it such as:
"I wanna eat chickenburgers!!"
"Zebras in America!!!!!"
"Daddy would you like some sausage?  Daddy would you like some sau-sa-ges!"
"I'm the backwards man, the backwards man.  I can run backwards as fast as you can."
"It's an umbilical cord...I taped it there for fun."
"You gotta get inside the animals."

I have only one other friend who likes it just as much as I do.

So go ahead, throw the insults at me but I don't care, I know that there are other people out there who love it like me!

What are your thoughts on this great movie?

mr. henry

i think it has moments of genius...it took the whole Something About Mary farrely brothers type of shock humor (like the genitalia caught in the zipper) and turned the whole trend on its ear. won't be topped in its badness for quite some time. the joke is green got paid big bucks without a real movie to be made. he winged it and laughed all the way to the bank.

I love the outside joke in this movie: Mr. Henry hit it on the head.

Tom Green got craploads of money for making absolute dreck, and KNOWING that it was absolute dreck the whole time.

I think Andy Kaufman would be proud.

The first hour or so is really good, but it drags toward the end...

Still, some really funny/sick things at the beginning.  "I'm a farmer!  I'm a farmer!"

And as I said in the GIGLI thread, FREDDY GOT FINGERED is probably one of the few movies in the last several years that is as bad as any of the classic bad films--20 years from now people will still remember it as one of the worst movies, probably long after most of the "Good" movies from that year have been forgotten.

wickednick

Oh god.I just want to forget this movie, but everytime its almost out of my head someone mentions it.DAMN'T.
Ok listen up I HATE THIS MOVIE, and Im sure most of you think Im just being some kind of pushy, overly egotistical a***ole by saying this but, if you like this movie then you need to have your  head checked. There is absolutely nothing funny about this movie or Tom Green.Tom Green is the most untalented, unfunny, mind numbing "comedian" (and that term is used in the loosest sense) I have ever seen.
How is watching a guy jackoff a elephant funny, how is a guy swing a baby over his head by the umbilacle cord funny, how is hollowing out the carcass of a dead moose and wearing the bloody thing funny?
Theres is nothing funny, about this god damn movie.
I know we are people that are supposed to enjoy bad movie but damn, this movie is beyond bad, it beyond any concept of horrible, I would rather have my intestines dragged out through my ass than watch this movie again. The thought of anyone finding some humor in this movie drives me nuts.
Ok, there its out of my system.I know some of you are probably going to take offense to my rather strong language concerning this movie and the people who enjoy it, and I know evey one has there own opinions, but if you take offense try and not take it personally,I just really really hate this movie and the very name of it sparks a intenses sense of hatred within me.
Ash I still respect you, you have always been a fair and honest poster, but damn man, Freddy Got Fingered!?

Smells like popcorn and shame

Mr_Vindictive

Unlike Nick, I absolutely love this movie.  It is pointless, stupid and funny as hell.

You just have to take the film for what it is.  Trash.  The film is pure stinking trash, but is still highly entertaining.  The bits are outrageous and often inventive.  Suprisingly, even some of the reviewers liked the film.  One from the NY Times praised it for its originality and inventivness:

"Though Gord dreams of being an animator (and travels from his Oregon home to Los Angeles in the hope of breaking into television), his true mtier, like that of his creator, is a kind of pure and audacious conceptual performance art. The movie's comic heart consists of a series of indescribably loopy, elaborately conceived happenings that are at once rigorous and chaotic, idiotic and brilliant. Some of these -- the ''backwards man'' bit, the sausage-piano concert and the fake cell phone in the restaurant scene -- might have qualified for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts if MTV and studio money hadn't been forthcoming and may show up some day at the Museum of Modern Art."

So yes I love the film.  Don't be too hard on it and DO NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY.

Mr Green, the Sex Pistols would be proud for you pulled off the great Motion Picture Swindel!

Opinions:

Pointing any type of camera, film or no film, at Tom Green should be a punishable offense.

If Drew Barrymore found Tom Green charming enough to marry, she really should have a court-appointed guardian watching out for her.

I really don't like this movie, though I will admit I did like some things about it. I liked Gord's sausage piano thing and his song "Dady you would like some sausage, daddy would you like some sau-sa-ges" I thought it was kind of cute how the dogs were watching the sausages on the strings going up and down (cute) and I like the art work that Gord did (though I doubt Tom Green actually drew it) Now for the bad things: I admit I kinda like dark humor (or is it black humor?) but I thought it was just sick how that little boy kept getting hurt, I mean he was chopped up by propelers at the end and blood splatters all over the crowd (sick! By the way I'm not a fan of South Park.) Gord skins a dead moose and wears it ( I admit I smirk at how big of a dumb f#$^ Gord is) but that's also pretty sick. Also it's bad taste (I mean as in bad "bad taste") how Gord swung the baby around by it's umboiclale (msed) cord and while the woman was giving birth two native american women started a song with drums (WTF!) And talk about down right gross Gord jacking off a elephant and grabbing a horses penis and saying 'I'm a Farmer" (that's rancher dips$%^! and I thought he wanted to be a cartoonist.) Oh yeah and Gord licking his friends broken leg, even I thought that was gross (do you realized how much bacteria we have in our mouths?) That's all the crap I can think about to b***h, I will also admit that Gord's plan to cut his dad's room out and ship it to Pakistan ,though crazy, drew a small laugh from me ("Oh boy Gord's in trouble" is what I was thinking)
So right.. .1/2 a star out of 5 but I doubt I can change your mind ASHTHECAT you know we all have our little guilty pleaures. (I like the American Guyver movie.) so I guess I can sympathize with and everyone that likes this movie just remeber it's crap...bad crap.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Apparently someone must like it, because it still plays cable fairly regularly.  I wonder how many other movies from that year are still played as often.  I mean, I know cable is different from the way it once was and they play more movies, but it seems weird that they pick this movie to play at least a few times a month.

Chris K.

While I am not going to change ASHTHECAT's mind about liking FREDDY GOT FINGERED, I must say that the film was absolutely dreadful. And I saw the film during it's short week theatrical run and let me tell you the audience laughed for only five minutes until the horse masturbation scene. The audience reactions, which were dull silence, shows that even they didn't like what they were seeing, even though half of the people were teenagers!

Yeah, Tom Green made the film knowing that it was absolute crap. But, Tom Green was PAID to make the film. That should speak some volumes. It was as if Green was trying to show that Hollywood makes some crappy films, even though we all knew about that from day one and it didn't take Tom Green to prove it to us.

As for Tom Green, he needs to stay in obscurity for the rest of his life.

I love FGF, one of the greatest movies ever created.

Why????? You ask????

"Your Dad called me a retard, slut, whore....I don't think he likes me"

"Yeah, that was little Timmy"

"It's taped, its for fun"

"Ok, I'll work around it"

"Jewels!!!"

"Japan 4!!!!!!"

"Get inside the animals"

"YOU SEEE THE INSANITY I HAVE TO DEAL WITH!!!!"
