OT: Prison b***h Saddam! (I wish)

The whole world by now knows of his capture.

My only wish is that his trial by tribunal is televised for the whole world to see.
That and he should also be subjected to extensive anal violation by a member or many members of the Aryan Brotherhood.
After they're done with him then he can be passed on to the Brotha's then the Latino/Chicano's then to the Asian Gangs & so on & so on.  Let all of them have a turn!
Hehe!
f**k the Geneva Convention.
This guy doesn't deserve such luxuries!

What a great accomplishment by the U.S. military...even if it was tipped off by an informant.

What I found wholly unbelievable about his capture was the Major who "suposedly" claimed to capture him.  (the media made it out to seem that this one man solely captured him even though it said U.S. troops were involved)

I do imagine that U.S. troops had Saddam at gunpoint for probably more than an hour or two and then they waited for this Major to wake up, get out of bed, put his pants on, have himself driven to the capture site, have another soldier take a pistol from his belt & hand it to the Major only to have said Major level the other soldier's pistol at Saddam and say, "Gotcha sucka!" and take credit for the whole thing.
At least that's how I envisioned it.
The grunts did all the hard work and then let some no-name officer take most of the credit for it.
I don't know about you but when I read the media reports, that scenario was the first thing that entered my mind within seconds of reading it.
Did the same enter yours?
I'll bet that at least for some of you, it did.

Oh well, at least they got that worthless f**ker.

Now I want to watch his trial by tribunal on TV dammit!
They better show it.
What do you think the outcome of the tribunal will be?
Will he be put to death?
Or will he be imprisoned?

What do you think?

I say they tour him around the country like an old carnival sideshow, maybe that'll help get some of the money back that we spent on all of this.

Who are you guys kidding?  He'll end up hosting his own talk show.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Yeah, or if he could get the "Citizen" clause waived, he'd win the Democrat nomination for Pres. for sure...Looking at DemocraticUnderground.com today, THEY sure love him enough.

Oooops, sorry, I could not resist.

I want him tired by Iraqis, in a televised trial.
Then ask those who continue to oppose his ouster, "do you still think it was wrong to remove him from power?"

Can't wait to see the tv movie on his capture.  He'll come muttering out of his hole "I'd have gotten away with it if it weren't for these meddling kids."

Yep I can see it now the "Joe Former Dictator Show". Eight shallow women compete to rule by the side of a dictator. What they don't know is that he is really former dictator Saddam Hussein.
Obviously Fox would produce it.

Smells like popcorn and shame

I saw Anthrax play last night, and John Bush pretty much summed it up when he said "I'm sure by now you all know a certain a***ole was captured today.  You know Presidend Bush is going to take all the credit for it, but f**k that dickhead, the credit belongs to the brave ones, the soldiers over there giving their lives for us."
And I love that idea about using him as a sideshow attraction.

The people of Iraq are probably better off, at least until the US leaves and a Taliban like group comes to power.

Make no mistake, he was terrible to his own people, but I don't think the US is any safer with him in custody, and I think the Middle East is probably less stable than it was before the invasion.

But we can always hope that it will make Iraq a little safer for the troops.

I have not heard Bush take any credit, beyond what is actually due him as COMMANDER AND CHIEF OF THE US MILITARY ... I hear him in virtually every speech he gives giving homage to the 'brave men and women of our armed services.'

Make no mistake, it is no easy thing as a commander to order others into battle.  Bush is deeply seated in his faith, a faith that cherishes life.  For him, or for Clinton, Reagan or any other President, I am quite sure the order to commit troops, knowing some will die, was one made with much deliberation and soul searching.  It cannot be a decision that breeds peaceful sleep at night.

Maybe sooner than we think.

I just heard on the radio that the Iraqis expect sovereignty by June 30, and they are saying they will have their first execution on July 1.

Wow.

That quote wasn't from me, Ulthar, it was from John Bush of Anthrax.  I put it up because I happen to agree with it, though.  If Bush was such a great guy who cared about all people and had problems with people dying or being tortured or whatever, he'd never have allowed Mr. Ashcroft to even pass the Patriot Act, let alone start using it for criminal reasons that have nothing to do with terrorists.

Yeah, I knew that; after editing your quote in my last post, I saw it as possible that the statement could be mistakenly attributed to you.

Point of clarification:  Ashcroft, as Attorney General, cannot pass legislation.  He has nothing to do with passing legislation.  The US Congress, both House and Senate, passes legislation.  If you have a beef with the passage of the Patriot Act, direct it at our Representatives and Senators (I believe the Dems controlled the Senate at the time it was passed, by the way).

A lot of people are attributing things to the Patriot Act that simply are not there.  The Act itself ONLY influences the timing of gaining warrants ... they can be obtained faster.  There is NO POWER given to ANY law enforcement agency in the Patriot Act that has not already been in place.

Oh and by the way, name me ONE single person who has been tortured or died as a direct result of enforcement under the Patriot Act.  Name one.  If you can, you might want to call the ACLU, because they have been looking for a specific case of the misuse of the Act and have not found one single instance.

Yea, that would be just as much fun as an execution. Bagdad Bob would be Ed McMahan or co-host.

I would like to see Bush meet him face to face on national television doing some kind of reality TV show.

Or like Ringler said parade him around as one of those clowns in the dunking machine.

Only after that do you give him back to the Iraqi's for trial and punishment.

Bush and U.S. soldiers are the greatest. Even if the whole thing is orchestrated along with the Patriot Act that is OK. Just remember to be on the right side when the time comes. To many people are consuming the earth. Life as we know it can't go on forever. Nothing ever does. Why is our way of life any different? Just be prepared for chance. Don't look at it as a "bad" thing. Eventually all things change.

As long as we can entertain ourselves in some form while accomplishing great things as a species.

Take all the credit??  The first thing the White House had to say on the matter was to urge Saddam's followers to lay down their arms, accept amnesty, and join in the rebuilding Iraq - in other words, there was an immediate effort to use the capture not for political currency but to save American and Iraqi lives.  Granted, my analysis may not be as well-informed as that of some guy from Anthrax.

As for punishment, I think a good start would be to drag him down the street and let that little Iraqi kid run after him an whack him in the face with his shoes like he did with the statue of Saddam.
