Anybody else ever notice that impersonators tend to get Moe Howard's hair wrong?

I was away from home the other day and had a very old laptop with me (I'm always paranoid about traveling with anything too new...) and I was looking around on there and came across this WORD document of these, well, micro-stories or poems or something that I obviously wrote that I had absolutely forgotten about. It was one of those rare moments where I had the experience of reading something of my own from an outside perspective. Strange, strange experience.

Cleveland is hosting the RNC in 2016.   I just realized the previous weekend is the weekend I'm going to G-Fest.  There's a joke here somewhere.

Let's see...

I'm going from one convention about fictional monsters destroying the country and coming home to the real ones.

There's my political post for the month.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Read a comment today on how to make the leprechaun movies scary.

QuoteGet Liam Neeson to play the Leprechaun in the style of Taken's Bryan Mills.

I could see that working.

What if all the guesstimates were wrong, and we are currently all living in Heaven? What the freak would Hell be like?

Once in a while, maybe once every other month, I go out with my friend Amanda and help her in her charity work, gathering donations of clothing and food for shelters.

She had to scoot her schedule forward a half-week because of the big snowstorm, and so I went with her yesterday to help her rush, and part of the deal was she'd take paperwork into various grocery stores that were signed up to donate to the program, and we'd give the managers these papers, and they'd have us meet workers around back where they'd bring out pre-packaged boxes of powdered milk and tuna and of mac and cheese, etc.

It was all pretty standard up to this point where something unexpected happened.

I was standing there with her at a Kroger store while she turned in her paperwork and went around to the office with one of these managers, leaving me waiting, and there was an older woman behind me by the front desk, and I guess she overheard words like "donations for the needy" and "charity" and "here to pick up food" because she walked up and hugged me and put a twenty dollar bill in my hand, actually folded my fingers down over the money, and said, "For your family."

Well I'm blessed with being financially all right (though there but for the grace of God, as they say) and while deeply touched, I started to explain the situation, thinking it was only fair, and tell her I was there to help, not to be helped, but she seemed so moved by being able to give me that twenty that I kind of heard myself thanking her and saying it was really of nice her, and I'd put it to good use. (I gave it to Amanda as a donation for that program.)

I hope it was a good deed to let that kind woman have the inner glow of a thoughtful act, instead of telling her I wasn't actually the one getting the charity. Years ago a I heard a priest who said we should all be humble enough to let others help us when they can, so...I guess that's what I did, and I was really moved by her doing that to help me, but I also wonder, ultimately did that woman's random act of generosity encounter humility in my taking her money and letting her feel she was able to make a difference one-on-one, or did I commit an act of deception by not speaking up?

It was very decent of that woman anyway.

Why is it that only one bad thing can wipe out a lifetime of good things, but it takes a ton of good things to counter one bad thing?

I dunno, but ain't that the truth? Maybe it's as my Irish grandmother would tell you, "This is the devil's world." As good an explanation as any.

And by the way, that's Bad Andy from Domino's Pizza circa 2000, right?

Yup, that's Bad Andy. Cute guy. Didn't make it as a mascot for long.

Just realized that Joe Turkel, the guy who plays the beatnik blackmailer in Bert I. Gordon's TORMENTED, also plays the bartender in THE SHINING. From B.I.G. to Kubrick is quite a career arc!

If you transform a human into, say, a lion and he eats a human, is it still cannibalism?
