EFA down almost 8% today. EWU down almost 12%. The market understands what the Brits don't. What good is more autonomy with less prosperity?

Some things you can't put a price on, Rev. If the day ever comes when Ireland votes, which it won't, I'll vote to leave as well.

It's still early... They could always do what America does; Send in a federally appointed judge with a transparent agenda, who's going to pretend to hear the case, then declare that the voters aren't smart enough to make their own decisions.

Well, I sure hope this doesn't lead us into a global recession. It probably won't, but the odds are much greater than they were yesterday. T. Rowe Price says the chance just rose to above 50%, which is worrisome.

I think British motorcycles just got cheaper, which may hurt in the short term, but could be beneficial in the long term...

I think the next day is too soon to pass judgment on whether or not the "Brexit" was a good thing or not.  Let's see how it plays out over the next decade.

Frankly, I think multiculturalism is vastly overrated, especially when the cultures that are flooding into your country have values and mores that are incompatible with those of the native culture.

history will show if brexit was a mistake, but if they attempt to circumvent the election results with tricks that will be a far bigger mistake. the anti democratic sentiment has gotten downright creepy. the vote may not be what everyone liked but it was decisive and should be respected. this is bedrock of western civilization stuff that you don't toy around with.

I work with an intern here who answers almost anything stated to her with a semi-cheerful and ultra-expressive, "No s**t?" And she always changes the tonal inflection to give the phrase many meanings, ranging from bored compliance to sarcasm to disdain to awe.

"Hey, Heather, it's going to rain."

"No s**t?"

"Heather, we need to get this out to UPS by four."

"No s**t?"

"Heather, that woman you just called a 'bald-headed troll' is one of our biggest clients."

"No s**t?"

"Heather, no, that's my dad, and I'm not cool with your speculative musings on his relationship status."

"No s**t?"

She says it in front of clients and customers, in front of my visiting mother, in front of our virginal little Mormon girl who works like a mule and is sweeter than cherry pie. She uses it to the point of absurdity. A perfectly charming Anglo-Saxon monosyllable like that loses all meaning with such overuse. And it's going to fall on me to talk to her about it. The joys of the job I do.

Working as I do with so many Millennials, I am starting to understand her generation's knee-jerk reaction to things like perceived homophobia and racism, because they're the only things left that shock them. Sex, cursing, talking about a random hookup-lite in a car in the Cooper Road Starbucks parking lot around closing time---with an empty cup kept on-hand---it's all mundane and everyday to those her age. We late-scale Gen Xers of the '90s were once considered cutting edge, but Millennials make us seem like nuns and choir boys!

I feel like saying to her, "You do know promiscuity and cussing didn't just get invented the other day, right?"

But I know she'd just say, "No s**t?"

Hmm... so, when I want to take money from my Paypal account and put it in my bank, it takes three to five days according to the website, but when I want to purchase something via Paypal, they somehow manage to TAKE the money from my bank account almost instantly.

Verrrrry interesting.

Got the same message last week when I needed a refund, but it went through between twelve & twenty-four hours...

I think they tell you that, because while PayPal has improved, Wells Fargo has gotten worse...

This is one of the ways that PayPal (and banks) makes money. They deposit your funds into their big corporate account and earn 3 days interest off it, then pay it to you. They have to make money somehow, and I'd rather delay getting my funds than pay a fee.

I was at a meeting at church and the finance guy said he talked to the people who manage the endowment fund after the vote and their advise was to do nothing and just ride it out, it should be fine over the long run.  I'm taking the same approach personally, not getting too bent out of shape about things and just riding this one out.

I wish everyone across the world who values courage, freedom, and self-determination would take the time to read the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, even our beloved friends in the United Kingdom, for whom the Declaration was in part written.

Barring that, may everyone everywhere one day dwell enjoying those sacred, imperiled liberties we too often take for granted.
