GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE (1972) - This one is a low budget film that was a neat little vampire flick, but could have been much better with better actors and camera work. It's a story of a vampire who comes out of his tomb and rapes a woman in a cemetary and she has a baby. The vampire runs off and the women delivers the baby, but it won't drink milk. Instead she finds after cutting herself that the baby likes blood and she proceeds to bottle feed him blood. The son grows up only to hunt down his father and kill him. There is much more to this story as it a really wild film, but Alpha Video has a weak transfer on their DVD that affects the look and sound. This film had alot and could have been much much more.

Scott:

Unless I am mistaken, it looks like you've made quite a few DVD purchases from Alpha Video lately!

(Incidentally, I recently ordered Alpha's MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE DVD . . . )

The Alpha MANOS is a decent copy.

Yes, I've picked up quite a few of the Alpha DVD's. I want to get their copy of I BURY THE LIVING.

Scott!!!!

Thanks!  You finally answered one of my biggest film mysteries!  My wife and I were talking about a year ago about a film she had seen many many years before.  She said it was about a single mother who had to feed her child blood.

I do believe it is Grave Of The Vampire.  I've been trying to find out what flick it was for so long now.

Alpha Video-Here I come!

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

This is definately a strange film with some very interesting moments, but the actors bored me and the camera work was poor. To top it off the ALPHA copy has weak audio/visual which can be distracting. Don't let this stop you from seeing it though. I bought my copy for $6.99. It's might be worth a look.

Don't let that stop you from looking at ALPHA VIDEO films. They have some good ones.

Scott

What I meant to say is ALPHA VIDEO isn't all poor as they have some good transfers to DVD also.

One that you never mentioned by Alpha is White Pongo- freaky white gorilla jungle movie from the 40's that I found funny but I'm not sure if it would be everyone's cup of tea. You definitely led me to buy Sound of Horror but I haven't watched it yet.

Yes, I think you will enjoy SOUND OF HORROR. The intro is also neat as they freeze frame the characters during the titles.

I remember WHITE PONGO as a child. Left an impression on me with the white gorilla. Would love to see it again. Been checking all the ALPHA DVD'S and haven't seen it on the shelve yet. There's another one called NABONGA about a gorilla.
