This is an odd one but I think it will interest folks here, and I liked it so much I wanted to start a new thread on it.

A California witch who uses spells to seek out her true love finds that her lovers keep dying in this tribute to 1960s Technicolor spectacles.

The style is half Hithcock, half Roger Corman. It also reminds me a little of Eurotrash horror: like Jess Franco or Jean Rollin, but at their very best. The acting is deliberately campy, like a 60s TV show, but they pull it off. It's basically an art movie but there is a lot of exploitation stuff to keep you interested. It's like they made this with me in mind!

Trailer is slightly NSFW:

I give it 5/5. In theaters or VOD now, I'd expect a DVD out in January. Now I want to see the (female) director's last movie, VIVA, which was a tribute to Radley Metzger-style 1970s softcore films.

I loved VIVA. The girls are both 20 pounds overweight and look amazing and they drink in every single scene. it's about like swinging housewives

Interesting that you've picked up on this.  The trailer is super cringey and I couldn't work out the direction/tone the producers were aiming for.  To me, it looked like a bad attempt at recreating the look of a film of that era, and it ended up looking much more try-hard than authentic.  Black Dynamite (2009) succeeds much more in that regard.

When I saw "(2016)" I had doubts but the trailer actually looks like they did a good job and I might like it!  What is VOD?

Video-on-Demand. But I was wrong, it's not on VOD yet.
