This song always reminds me of being fourteen one sizzling hot summer afternoon in 1993, sitting out by the pool with my nineteen-year-old cousin at her dad's house while he was on vacation in the Seychelles, and she smoked enough weed to leave the seven dwarfs comatose, and kept hitting replay over and over, playing this song easily a dozen times. She kept trying to get me to smoke with her, and I wouldn't, so she called me a "stupid virgin goodie-goodie" and gave up and danced like she was insane, then fell asleep in a chair, so I pulled the patio umbrella over top of her so she wouldn't roast. She had the stereo blaring and I'm still not sure my right ear hearing loss doesn't go back in part to that day.


Ah, youth.
