I feel like that if I went out in drag with combat boots and my zebra mask no one would bat an eye.

In middle school my friend read a lot of Judy Blume books, an author I simply could not get into at all, but something that does stick out in my mind is that in one of these Judy Blume novels a character always rated her days, grading them from F- to A+. If I were to follow that system, today would certainly have earned an A. May everyone here soon have their own very good day.

There is a smiting watch in my life, since it's clear God is going to smite me for laughing long and hard at this really unfunny subject matter this morning. There was this documentary on TV when we first got up, and in the mutha of all British understatement, this poor old man with a wooden leg was talking about how he got his injury in WWII, and he said, "Jerry threw a shell in the midst of us, it hit right beside me and sent me way up into the air, twenty feet. When I landed I saw that my right leg was quite gone, and I felt a bit grim about that."

It was the "bit grim" that sent me slumping into a chair, bent double, my sides aching with laughter. It was a horrible moment, but the way he said it, so sincerely, I exploded and everybody stopped and looked at me.

There is no way the cosmos is going to let me get away with that and I expect lightning to hit me soon and send me twenty feet into the air, leaving me legless and feeling a bit grim myself.

Wizard of Oz is one of those works of fiction where I think I've liked the strange adaptations and re-imaginings more than the original source material.
Have you been watching Emerald City too?
I still can't figure out whether or not is got references to Zardoz.

Its been a while since I've seen Zardoz so its possible I missed something.  I think it comes from the two having somewhat similar aesthetic sensibilities.

But I really like the woman playing Mistress West- Ana Ularu

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Can anyone help me?
I'm looking for some sort of pocket DVR I can line out my cameras to, preferably compatible to RCA inputs.
Unfortunately, all my searches keep leading to more cameras, the kind I wouldn't buy out of a gumball machine.  :hatred:
Any ideas?

Is it weird that I never heard the song "Space Truckin'" by Deep Purple until it was used for "Ash vs Evil Dead"? I mean, I'm pushing 40, so the seventies was a bit before my time, but still... had heard a lot of the other hits from that era growing up...

That's not so strange.

I'd never heard the songFairytale of New York by The Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl until last year: it was released in 1987!  :buggedout:

Now it's my favourite Christmas song.

Why do people always run to the grocery store for milk, eggs and bread when they hear a snow storm is coming? Does a large portion of the population crave French toast when it snows?
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I KNOW! I head to the store when I hear snow's coming, and get there to find the place so, so crowded by a bunch of lemmings. It's maddening!

Snow panic. I've got food. I just hope the electric stays on so I can run the computer.

For some reason, I always thought Stephen King looked much more disturbed/disturbing when he was an overweight guy with a beard, a  bad haircut & poor taste in sweaters...

In the '90s, after he lost a few pounds, got a shave & bought a comb & a leather jacket, he just sorta looked like your typical high school nerd who thought he could run with the gangstas or something...
