South Dakota man arrested for trying to save beer from a fire

South Dakota man really likes his beer.

One person was taken to the hospital, two were treated at the scene and another person was arrested after fire broke out in a multi-family residence in Sioux Falls.

Officials say a man was arrested after trying to push past authorities to save his beer inside the residence Sunday afternoon.

Police Sgt. Andrew Siebenborn tells the Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/2oDCXvp ) the man used "poor judgment" by trying to run back into the house and was arrested for interfering with a fire or law enforcement official.

And I bet it was something like Natural Light, Old Milwaukee, or Milwaukee's Best that he was trying to save.

Michael Casteel, 56, was collared outside his home, a multifamily residence in Sioux Falls. As emergency workers were treating other building residents for injuries, Casteel, cops say, persisted in trying to reenter the building (seen above) to retrieve beer from his apartment.

Casteel succeeded in returning to his home, where he grabbed two cans of Bud Ice Premium, cops say. Upon exiting the building with cans in hand, Casteel was arrested for his ill-advised beer run.

A police spokesperson charitably described Casteel's devotion to his suds as "poor judgment."

Casteel, charged with obstructing a firefighter or law enforcement official, was booked into the Minnehaha County jail (where he is locked up in lieu of $300 bond).

I wouldn't. Stay dry, your undies will thank-you. I use to drink, but I can't touch alcohol anymore, as it just makes me sick, but if you do decide to take a drink, then stick with your South African beers and wines. I hear there are several fine ones out there, so come to the U.S., as the location of the largest selection of South African beers and wines outside of South Africa is Walt Disney World in Florida.
