Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

Scott

Watched him many a Saturday morning just after the early morning Western.

Ellie

I remember sitting at my little table with the ABC's printed on it ..eating cinnamon toast watching Captain Kangaroo. I was four years old. That is one of the earliest memories that I have.

Brother Ragnarok

I'll bet he's being chased around Heaven by an unruly seal right now.

Brother R

There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.
    - Rob Zombie
Rape is just cause for murdering.
    - Strapping Young Lad

Grumpy Guy

May God rest his soul.  I don't think anyone had ever done as much for children through television as he did.  He will be missed.

Ah, Keeshan and Fred Rogers are playing a hand of pinochle with Shari Lewis right about now, with Lambchops roasting on the spit.  Wait, I sense another thread coming on . . . . . .

Some people like cupcakes better--I for one care less for them

Deej

Former Marine Bob Keeshan...God's Speed and Semper Fidelis.

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

He's probably getting ping-pong balls dumped on his head right now  because of  Mr. Moose. Ahhh......Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Greenjeans, and Grandfather Clock.  Many a childhood memory in that show.  I was too young for his other gig, which was Clarabell the Clown on the Howdy-Dowdy show.  So Bob Keeshon entertained about four generations of  children (he never let anyone use the word kid on his show).

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Scott

I clearly remember the ping pong contest with the clear glass bows. The kids would have to bounce them into the bowls with the music of trumpet player Herb Alpert in the background.

Eirik

First Jim Henson, then Fred Rogers, now the Cap'n...

Sad day.

Savannah

Not to mention Charles Shultz...  I'm wondering where the good ones are for today's children?  /////  well....  still wondering.  Mr. Rogers and the Captain...  kind hearted men

The Burgomaster

They should make a movie about him rising from the dead.  They could call it THE RETURN OF ROO or something

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Flangepart

Semper Fi, Capt.
Mr. Greenjeans was a Marine ,too. btw.

"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"
