My work PC - where I normally poast from - crashed and while I will be on daily, I won't be able to post much for a while.

FWIW, if possible get a mainboard made by gigabyte and a power supply certified at least silver level. that should help. Was it a hard drive crash?

Did you get a critical update right before it happened?
That's what happened to me a few days ago...
It did something to corrupt my operating system.
