Has anyone heard if Paramount is making anymore Trek movies? I was so hoping for a DS9 movie where Sisko comes back. Anyone?

Gawd I hope not...  Actually, I don't have to see it, so I hope SO for the people who like them.

All I've heard is that Nemesis was the absolute last for the Picard-Ryker-Wolf crowd.

I believe that was the tagline.

So. Y'know.  Draw your own conclusions.

There will probably never be a DS9 (best Trek since TOS)movie  because the current bunch that run the franchise treat  DS9 like a bastard step-child.  This is probably because they had very little to do with it  after Voyager came on.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Jayson

Yes...DS9 was my fave of the series...including TOS. I really liked how they serialized it from seasons 5-7.

I couldn't imagine another Trek movie. The last two TNG movies sucked, and Picard's crew are not aging as well as Kirk's, the original cast is out of the question (unless they want to meet up with the Cocoon aliens), and I never could get into DS9 or Voyager. I like Enterprise, but it's not movie material, at least not yet. I'd say the Trek movie franchise is played out.

One thought has ocurred to me, though. Perhaps someday a new series of movies will be made, for a generation who do not associate the characters so closely with a particular actor. Lots of classic stories get a new treatment every few decades -- Superman, for example. Maybe Shatner won't be the only actor to play captain Kirk.

*If* the Borg were truly scary like their first appearance in TNG, AND the Borg assimilated the Earth, everything in the federation, the Romulans, etc. etc.

In other words, a movie that shows the Borg for what they CAN do.

In the end, there COULD be some little outpost of humans/humanoids that the Borg did not know about that survive to perpetuate the species and rebel in later episodes.

Oh wait, this last bit sounds like the Star Wars series....

Rats.

I did not care for DS9 when it first started, but it  was *very* engaging when it became a serial story.  In my opinion, it grew into one of those shows you really hope does not end.  (BTW, the ending was disappointing to me, but that's just my opinion).

Aren't they trying to do *something* like this serial approach with the Xindi on Enterprise?

Well, for my part, while there will not be a new "Star Trek: TOS" or a new "Star Trek: TNG," I'd like to see a big screen version of "Star TreK: DS9." if for no other reason, then of all the series, both past and present, it was my favorite.

if anything else..to see what happend to SISKO

I was just thinking that before I read your post.  I thought "Why not just get the original cast back together and have them fight Khan?  I'd pay to see it".  Then I realized that Deforrest Kelley is dead, and that it kind of wouldn't work without McCoy, or with someone else playing McCoy unless you recasted the entire crew.  Question is, who would play who?

Everything's funnier with monkeys.

God I hope they don't make DS9 into a movie, that show sucked. But then again I've never been much of a Star Trek fan.Im more of a Bablyon 5 guy my self.

Smells like popcorn and shame

I guess Nick is wycked. I like ST and B5.
