I can relate to that feeling... "Nothing left inside".  I can take the Rock, and I can hear where lots of "death metal" or "black metal" or "sludge" got their inspiration.
BLACK FLAG is better than all that, but ultimately too nihilistic for me.  It's a downer.
You have other tastes in music.  Go there and keep on keepin' on...

BLACK FLAG "Scream"   They're great; too much anger for me.

Scored a stack of cheap CDs at Goodwill earlier this week so I've been listening to these on a constant loop:

Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door
Lou Gramm - Ready or Not
Great White - ...Twice Shy
The Doors - The Best of the Doors (2CD)
Asia - self titled
"If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

All your selections I'd have snapped up, but this I DON'T OWN...!!!   :bluesad: was just thinking about it... of course, I had it decades ago on vinyl (sh!t, I had CODA on vinyl...)  Remember the inside sleeve became watercolor with a dab of moisture...?  I no doubt will get my own copy of In Through the Out Door real soon now...

^^ Cool, man. I've actually never owned In Through the Out Door till now. The only track I was familiar with was "All My Love," cuz that's a classic-rock radio staple.

I read up on the album on Wikipedia and yea, the original LP came wrapped in a plain brown paper bag w/the band name/album title rubber-stamped on it like a bootleg would've, and apparently if you got that brown wrapper wet it would change colors.

I believe that there were several different cover photos on the LPs too (all of the same bar room scene, but taken from different angles) but I'm not as well versed in LZ trivia as I probably should be.

You're right in that it came in a brown paper bag like sleeve, with the barroom scene cover on the album inside the bag, but the album then had an inner sleeve which had little bumps in the design, and, if only slightly moistened, would become the intended color of the design.  Watercolors printed on the inner sleeve...  Who could resist licking your index finger and... ?

Lookee what I found:  LED ZEPPELIN In Through The Out Door

Listening now.  Just what I wanted to hear.
I remember when this was new.  Not well received, but I'd guess "everybody" bought it.  Like all LED ZEPPELIN records, I love it, but not a favorite.  I haven't heard it in decades!   Or most of it.  :teddyr:

Oh!  See the swipe in the design of the cover image (barroom)?  I think intended as a clue to fans of the special effect of the inner sleeve.

IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR: I owned the LP and didn't know about the color change. I do remember there were 6 different (very similar) album covers.

I can't remember what I did with all my old LPs, wish I had them today.

I often think about something you once said REV... I like all their albums, but the further LED ZEP gets away from the Blues, the less I like them.
