I have just returned from my videostore and on the New Release section I couldn't help but notice a movie called "Lucky" on the cover I saw a dog , I think it was a Corgi (they're so cute) and a man was behind the dog holding a rack (or something). With the name "Lucky" I thought this was a comedy about a pesky Corgi dog named Lucky and that it  (the dog)  was so annoying this Guy tries to kill it with a rake. But upon furthor studying the cover I noticed the dog had red eyes, was (somehow) holding a knife and that there were hands coming out of the ground. Thus I concluded that it's a horror movie. I read the back and it sounds interesting. It's about a failing cartoonest who one day finds a dog and somehow the dog inspires him to do good comics. But the dog enters the mans mind and kills people. I wanted to rent it but didn't have enough money. Now I want to hear you opinions about it. I WILL see it even if all the people on this board told me "DON'T WATCH" because the movie sounds weird and interesting, but that doesn't mean it's gonna be good or fun. You may be thinking "Why ask our opinos if you're going to watch it anyway?" well I just want to have the right expetations for the movie so it's not so bad.

                   Dave,get this movie!!!!!

A very disturbing, very fascinating dive into a person who descends into extreme madness, and pure dementia, with Michael Emmauel giving a wonderful performance as the madman cartoon scripter who may,or may not,be actually hearing his dog telling him to kill.

Does the dog actually exist?!  Get the movie, and find out!!!

I watched this last night and it wasn't bad..wasn't great but I don't regret renting it. Though I can see why it gets such mixed reviews.

Sounds like a takeoff of the David Berkowitz story (aka Son of Sam)

While on a journey, Chuang Tzu found an old skull, dry and parched.
With sorrow, he questioned and lamented the end of all things.
When he finished speaking, he dragged the skull over and, using it for a pillow, lay down to sleep.
In the night, the skull came to his dreams and said, 'You are a fool to rejoice in the entanglements of life.'
Chuang Tzu couldn`t believe this and asked, 'If I could return you to your life, you would want that, wouldn`t you?'
Stunned by Chuang Tzu`s foolishness, the skull replied, 'How do you know that it is bad to be dead?'

Havne't seen it as of yet, but will rent it soon due to the good reviews I've read.

Little bit of useless info for people that have seen it.  If it makes you appreciate the film any more, consider the fact that it was shot on a digital video (DV) cam in only 9 days.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

hey I watched it the other night in an attempt to avoid the Superbowl.  I was totally not what i was expecting. I was expecting something similar to the "spookyfish" episode of Southpark- guy gets evil pet, pet kills people etc... I was so wrong.

The plot of the movie an alcoholic cartoon writer runs over a dog. He takes the dog home and soon the dog begins to talk. The Dog (lucky) helps him with his cartoon scripts and he's soon a productive writer.  Then the dog helps him with his love life and introduces him to the love of his life.  From there it turns into a horror movie. the guy begins torturing, Raping,  and killing women...

And there's the question is the dog in his mind along with the girlfriend... But it's never really explained.

The movie is ok. There are some funny parts, but once he starts raping, and torturing you kinda feel guilty about laughing.  I'd be careful about recommending this to people, it's got that kinda vibe to it.  Some of the more annoying things- the constant narration by the main guy. There's probably more narration than dialogue, it's  done "fight club" style , but gets old after awhile. The other annoying thing is the shakey camera, it's enough to make you sick.

So there you go. a semi-review, hope that helps.

Your description was "crisp and cool". No, I'm only guessing - I haven't seen it yet.

"Lucky", for you, you didn't have to sit through this boring ass movie. The writer of this book won the script contest last year. This is how it became a movie. I'm almost done with my script that I know will scare the s**t out of you! Maybe your next subject will be, "the scariest and most clever s**t I've ever seen. I'll definately be #1 on your list. I hope you read this message before you suffer through this movie.

                               Thanx 4 your time, Ronnie.
