Seems too good to be true, but I bought one.

https://www.moviepass.com/

This card allows you to see 1 movie per day (!) at participating theaters, for a monthly fee of $9.95. Only regular 2D screenings, no 3D or special events. I tried it last night and got my first free movie. I don't see how this business model is sustainable and I expect a rate hike eventually. But if you see two movies a month in theaters it pays for itself.

I'll report back if I discover problems with the service, but for now it seems like a bargain.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I've been wanting to get this service for a while and have heard mixed things about it. My sister says she found
some complaints online and posted them to Facebook. I don't know how Facebook works so I haven't seen them.
When we tried to sign up it kept refusing to let us and didn't say why. But at the same time I've heard good things
from customers and weary skepticism from others. It does seem too good to be true.

I've read about privacy issues and data abuse of sorts since MoviePass only works with a cellphone and app location?

Quote"We watch how you drive from home to the movies. We watch where you go afterwards."

- MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe

:buggedout:

Though he did apologize in a statement afterwards.

Worth noting, though I've never been worried about corporations tracking my spending or personal habits.

Every time I start a new tab in Chrome on my Galaxy I see a story about MoviePass losing money.

Ahhh darn US only...all the offers in the UK are really rubbish (The best one I've seen is the "Unlimited" card run at the Odeon which is £20 ($28) a month to see as many films as you like...and im not even sure if that includes 3d screenings (Not that im a fan of them) if it was about £5-£10 cheaper I'd be there...but I just cant justify it really...especially not when I recently came into possession of over 250 VHS tapes xD (Seriously my bedroom looks like a blockbuster video at the minute...)

Is a Movie Pass anything like a Multipass?

Changes, changes, changes... (Sigh) Well, I guess it couldn't loose money forever.

Some movies may be ineligible. Others you can only see once.
