I know the dvd was talked about for awhile on this board but it's been pretty quiet about it lately. The dvd was released recently (few days range) and I picked it up for $10 off a new arrival cart today. The dvd contains everything you could ever want with commentary, 5 featurettes, behind the scenes etc. (check my post from a few days ago about more specific info) but for some reason it is missing the Dickies music video that appears at the end of the original release of the film on video. Not a real big deal but I just found it strange. MGM released it and it can be found usually for $15 or below depending where you buy it from.

You should have bought more to sell on ebay. I got mine from DVD empire and it cost me around 20$ with 2 day air mail. Do you know anything about the new "Goonies" DVD like wheather or not it has the cut scenes on the movie or in the extras or not at all?

Nah I'm not really interested in selling things on ebay. I don't know about goonies, I don't have that dvd.

Mofo Rising

I bought the GOONIES DVD on Tuesday.  If you're a fan of the movie I highly recommend it.

The main feature is probably the commentary, featuring Chunk, Mouth, Data, Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton and Richard Donner.  Pretty entertaining, although they do have problems with interrupting each other, and Sean Astin leaves halfway through.

Three deleted scenes are included.  The first is a scene in a Quik-E-Mart.  I forget the second, something to do with the restaurant.  The final scene is a very Ed Wood moment with an octopus, wisely left on the cutting room floor.

There is also both parts of the Cindi Lauper video from MTV, which is entertaining in its sheer awfulness.  It also features wrestlers from the glory days of the eighties.  Captain Lou Albano, Rowdy Roddy Piper and the Iron Sheik.  Be warned, it's ten minutes long.  I never want to hear that song again.

There's also a "Making Of" and the trailer.

Odd, the release date is this coming Tuesday.  I also noticed Reptilicus on the shelf at Best Buy over a week ago and it's not supposed to be released until the 28th.  Either these things are coming out early or some employees aren't getting the proper training.

I noticed that too with KKFOS, it's release is dated the 28 but it's alreadly out for a few days in a few places. I would guess they are shipping them out earlier.
