my job (uber) brings me to the airport here in Boston all the time, so I've discovered the neighborhood around it, called East Boston, lately. One of my favorite places to go is La Chiva https://www.yelp.com/biz/la-chiva-restaurant-boston

I usually get empanadas (1.50 a piece) and pastelles (2.50). WHat I really love is the sauce they come with. there's a red sauce and a pink sauce. No clue what either are but they are f**king good and really scratch the itch.

I had noticed the Colombian hot dog on the menu and wondered what the Hell it was. The egg on top in particular was baffling.

The above picture doesn't even do it justice. It was covered in crushed potato chips which are not really visible there. I have to give it a thumbs down though. The hot dog itself was great. it was high quality and covered in a piece of bacon. All the colored stuff and potato chips were like...way to weird and random though

I didn't have the quail egg, but they are supposed to be very good. It was an odd odd concoction and i will buy you one if you are ever out here

bob

I'd give it a shot if it didn't have an egg on it. Otherwise, it looks great.

I was thinking like all of you until I read Lester's review.  Yech.  I'll just take great dog on a good roll.

I kind of like the idea of crushed potato chips on a hot dog. I usually pile German style roasted onions on mine, so I'm all about the crunch. The inclusion of an egg is weird though.

I'd wolf that sucker down and buy another! LOL

The Burgomaster

I had hot dogs in Portugal that had potato sticks on them. I've also had hot dogs (in either Brazil or Portugal . . . I don't remember) that had kernels of corn and shaved carrots on them.

That hotdog reminds me of a one-man band at a county fair playing drums, trombine, guitar, harmonica and bagpipes all at once.
