THE SLIME PEOPLE(1963)

Was that whole 'put your ear here' just to make people look stupid or was there an actual gimmick to the poster.

Probably just a gimmick so some dude can whisper things to female moviegoers..

I'm gonna. Go with ''creation of the humanoids' . Yeah it was cheeeeeeeep. The acting was.generaly laughable. The sets and most costumes...no i won't be cruel. The symbolism was somewhat less subtle that the enola gay's visit to hiroshima.

But...

The basic message was eons ahead of it's time.  Long before blade runner or ghost in the shell this movie explored the issue of what humanity is and can be.

There were some clever and thoughtful bits of dialog in it,  like a robot telling a human ''I know who my Creator was.  You have to take yours on faith. '' and a resurrected.man saying '' I didn't like being old. I really didn't like being dead. ''

It broke the tired mold of evil or cold robots too.

This. Movie had an. Interesting pedigree too. The robot makeup was the last job of a makeup artist who worked on Karloff's Frankenstein makeup(!). It also had dudley manlove (yes his real name)  from ''plan 9 from outer space ''.

The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

Dr. Whom

They had way better titles back then.

Mine has to be Robot Monster (with the Brain from Planet Arous as a honorable mention)
"Once you get past a certain threshold, everyone's problems are the same: fortifying your island and hiding the heat signature from your fusion reactor."
