Happiness is at least 1d4, 3d6, 1d8, 2d10/d100, 1d12 and 1d20, a table to roll them on,  a good game system and good people to play it with.

Today has been a very happy day.  If I ever get stuck in a Groundhog Day scenario, this would be a nice one to repeat.
Slept in, went to a wonderful church service, a nice meal out afterwards, some private time with my wife, did some writing, grocery shopping, and now about to sit down and watch my Cowboys beat up on the Houston Texans.  OK, that last part is predictive, but a guy can hope, right?

That does sound nice, Sven.  You should get some friends and do it.

OK, the Cowboys lost in overtime, but it was such a great, well-played game by both teams that I am STILL happy.
Today has just been a good day.

Doing my job well and helping people.
Doing good to others even if I sometimes don't get it in return.

Am I the only one who would go for to crush your enemies, to see them fall at your feet -- to take their horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their women?

Nah, I would just go for a good old kick in the cobblers and watch my enemies groan in agony: they can keep their horses, goods and their ladies.

Happiness is.... often found in those good memories evoked by smells. Fresh-cut grass, or rain just beginning to fall on hot sidewalks in summer, or live pine trees at Christmas (planted in the yard soon after), that lovely scent atop a baby's head, the aftershave someone long ago once wore, fall leaves as they start to turn to soil, the incense in church at Eastertime, the intoxicating aura of a new book, the musty redolence of time inside an old book, new leather, baking bread, gunpowder, shoe polish, and above all the tender, indefinable scent of home.

A good thread, Sven!
