I wish people would stop doing new grinch movies. Seriously,  the original cartoon with Boris Karloff just can't be topped.  You just can't outdo Boris Karloff as a narrator.

They've been pimping the new "Grinch" animated film on the morning talk shows all week long. I have no interest in it, and thankfully my kids have aged out of the target demographic for such things so most likely they won't bother with it either. So I'll stick with the Karloff version.

I still haven't quite forgiven my kids for making me sit through Ron Howard's live-action monstrosity with Jim Carrey as the Grinch with them years ago when they were smaller. Though at least after I saw that flick I understood WHY the Grinch hated the Whos - because they were shrill, irritating, phony, consumerist a**holes. I would've wanted to ruin their Christmas too.

No, you can't. That's because (IMHO) they got it right. They kept it simple. The problem I had with the film with Jim Carrey, which I found unwatchable, was that I found it to be overproduced.
