Not over yet,  now you need to pass a law banning employers from refusing to hire people who use if off the job.  Otherwise legalizing it does no good.

It's legal in Massachusetts, too. But the state has taken its sweet time granting licenses to sell it and establishing testing facilities (because it needs to be tested before it is sold). It got the "yes" vote 2 years ago, but nothing has really changed yet as far as being able to buy it in a store.

No! Going to jail is NOT fun.  

I got arrested for having a roach in my pocket and spent 45 days in jail. This was in in 1997.

In South Africa, possession and use at home is now legal: I think you can still get arrested if you use pot in public.

Same here. You can possess it in public in small quantities but you cannot smoke it in public. You can also grow limited quantities for personal use (but you can't sell what you grow unless you are licensed).

Nice. I wish that pot was legal everywhere so that it'll free up prisons and help the economy.

these marijuana legalization laws are often rigged. In one case a state made having or using a little pot legal, but you could not grow, buy, sell, trade or give it away.

So yeah you can smoke it but there's no legal way to have it, so you're still busted for having it. Unless you can prove you just materialized it out of thin air thru willpower or something...

You can grow up to ten plants as long as they can't be seen in public.
You can have up to 10 ounces in your home, and one ounce on your person in public. I read the specifics of Michigan's new law yesterday.
