OT: Ancient Threads Dug Up By Newbies Recently

Ok...I've been posting on here a long time....almost 3 and 1/2 years and never in that entire time have I seen a literal explosion of newbies digging up very old threads like they have been lately!
I've seen it happen in isolated incidents before but recently it has exploded.

I'm sure all of you regulars have noticed this.

Threads that were written nearly a year ago have been brought back by new people to this board.

WTF???

I have to wonder if these people are doing a Google search for these specific topics we've written about or...more likely...are they literally digging through nearly 6 months or more of archives?

Come on newbies!!
Do you really have that much time on your hands?

The sad thing is that these newbies that dig up these threads post once or twice and are never heard from again.
WTF???

I've noticed that many of these newbies create forgettable names for themselves which directly states how important our own screen names are to each of us.
The names we create are memorable and are not easily forgotten.

Look people, if you're going to take the time & effort to revive an ancient thread, why the hell don't you stick around and become a regular!?

This has me dumbfounded!

It's almost like we've been invaded by a team of Internet archeologists!
Instead of getting on their hands & knees and sweeping the dirt and debris aside with their little brushes, they click click click & click some more to bring the bones/text up from under the surface.

You would think that after making such discoveries of the writings that is the genius of us regulars here that they would want to stay around but NOOO!!!!
They fade away into oblivion!

This bugs me just a bit...not a lot but enough for me to write a whole new thread on it...and here I sit typing.
It doesn't anger me but it does make me wonder what specific amount of time is invested into it by these newcomers to dig these up and then disappear forever.

I can imagine that this thread will be revived by some other newbie in 2006 or something!
Hehe!

Why do you think these people dig this s**t up and then disappear forever?

I came across this site in a search before.  I'm sure if these people are looking for a certain movie and they just happened to come across an old thread.  There isn't anything wrong with replying to it.  They might just want to know one thing and they are done with the site.  That is their choice.  I know I don't have a whole lot of time to check this site out lately.   It doesn't mean I won't come back just means I'm not going to be posting as often.  Some people aren't interested in joining chat rooms, or icq.  I recently got rid of my icq because I kept getting these guys from foreign countries that just want to talk about sex.  I'm just not that kind of girl.  To each their own, you can't make the new people stay if they have no desire to.

I wouldn't mind ressurectingold threads if they weren't the stupid "what actor/actress do yuo hate/like" threads.

Now if someone did a google search looking for infomration on "The Time Guardian" or "Hardware" and happened across my little mini-reviews on this phorum and wanted to ressurect those threads, that would be cool

whats wrong with "actors/actresses you hate" thread??? at least its a topic that EVERYONE can participate in, instead of topics like "Junkyard megawars","Wickerman remakes", or even Monte Python stuff. you know..topics with a very narrow audience. Not that those topics are bad...but alot of people know nothing about "junkyard wars". IMHO

Boy you can't win - I remember awhile back ago people complaining that newbies were starting new threads on topics that were old and already existed on the board and why don't they revive those threads instead of creating a new one?
