The Burgomaster

* Nerd (from "Happy Days") - I never heard this word until they said it on Happy Days. Next thing you knew every kid was saying it . . . and I started hearing it on other TV shows. It peaked with the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies.

* Bionic (from "The Six Million Dollar Man") - All of a sudden, everything was "bionic this" and "bionic that."

* Up your nose with a rubber hose (from "Welcome Back, Kotter") - This was funny (maybe) the first time I heard it. But the writers of "Kotter" found a way to include it in just about every episode. All the kids in my neighborhood were running around saying it. I hated this phrase. I still do.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."
