I cooked pork steaks and hot dogs on the grill, we had corn on the cob and baked beans, and my sister Brenda brought over lots food! Jed and his wife Tonya was over- we all ate and me and Jed smoked some good weed, and I brought the old 1980-'s boom box outside and plugged it into the yard light outlet.

My wife's grandfather died in Vietnam when the jeep he was in went over a landmine. His driver (who also died) grandson recently got in touch with her family and both sides found out things they hadn't known about that day. Anyway, he posted up these pictures today.

I didn't get my invite to lunch though.

Went on Sunday with my mom to the Skyline Memorial cemetery to visit her parents-- beautiful place high in the hills overlooking Beaverton/Portland.  So on the actual Memorial Day I just stayed at home and made YouTube videos, and scraped together my first lasagna from scratch.  It was out of sight!  I used 2 and a half POUNDS of beef, nearly 2 pounds apiece of shredded cheddar and mozzarella, 2 jars of sauce, and a ton of spices.  Oh man, was it good.  Well-spent weekend.
