Hey all,
I know we've had song genre threads before, but I don't recall the great psychedelic song genre threaded before.  It's easiest to pick a song from the 1960s, but really, there's other decades where a song kind of fits that category.  It's easier for me to feel the psychedelic pull of the song than to really describe what psychedelic music is.   But at any rate, on to the music.

One of my favorites is the great PICTURES OF MATCHSTICK MEN by Status Quo (1968)-- just the use of the wah-wah guitar (in the original mono version) and phasing really captures my attention!
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
And of course, another song that screams psychedelic:
INCENSE AND PEPPERMINTS- Strawberry Alarm Clock (1967)
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
And another one:
GREEN TAMBOURINE- The Lemon Pipers (1968)
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

Have fun with this, folks!  Groovy, man!
"O the legend they say, on a Valentine's Day, is a curse that'll live on and on.."

I've been listening to this album:

And this song has been stuck in my head lately. Maybe more on the pop side, but with definite psychedelic influence:

I seen Joan Jett do Crimson and Clover at the Cass County Fair in 1987. Amazing!
Before they played, they played the Sex Pistols on loud speakers. Best concert I ever been at.
Well, it was outside at a fair, and I had a date and was with freinds, we rode the rides.

What were we talking about?

Great!  I've seen that before but I love that album and that song!  I'm sure you know "Mr Mojo Risin'" is an anagram, but did you know MORRISON's line "City of night... city of night ...city of night...city of night!" is a reference to JOHN RECHY's book, CITY OF NIGHT?
