About Time (2013)

I hadn't heard of this movie and from the description thought it was science fiction, but turns out it was a rom-com, though a good one. It concerns a Cornish family whose men have the ability to travel back in time within their own lives, sort of like Quantum Leap if Sam had leaped only into himself.

The young man at the heart of the story, here played by Bill Weasley-shoulda been Domhnall Gleeson, soon masters the simple art of time travel and rights a few wrongs while using his skills to become the perfect man in order to win the heart of the young American woman of his dreams, played by Rachel McAdams. (Who seems to hook up with a lot of time traveling men, if you think about it.)

There is a sweetness here in About Time that won me over and I ended up liking the movie enough to go back and re-watch most of it, finding myself particularly impressed with Rachel McAdams getting married in a red dress. So bold!
