I showed a colleague at work a trailer for one of my favorite movies, Eraserhead (1977). My colleague is 30 years old and he loves movies, but he couldn't finish the nearly 1 minute trailer because it was black & white. I've heard of "younger" people having issues with "older" movies or refusing to watch anything shot in black & white, and this was my first time I've met one in person.

He said the black & white makes it look old, and he finds no enjoyment in watching old movies because they are dated and difficult to relate to.

I thought his explanation was strange but interesting. On the other hand he does like Jaws (1975) so go figure.

My sons grew up without cable, so I just played VHS tapes.
And they watched lotsa 3 Stooges, old black and white monster movies, and whatever I could pull in on the little TV in they're bedroom with the rabbit ears. They are now in their 20's. They love black and white films.
I think anyone who does not watch black and white films is missing out on a lot of wonderful films.
(They would rather watch garbage like the newest and loudest superhero movie.)

And if morons say "I can't relate."
Well, I couldn't relate to silent films- but I watch lots of them! Folks who say s!t like that are just f**king stupid. f**k all that. That's like saying "Duh?" and putting a pointy hat on your head that says "STUPID".

Went to the pub earlier to wish a colleague well who is leaving after 22 years in the job. Had a couple of beers with him and maybe a dozen others. Seemed a bit sad that more people didn't make the effort, although I'd imagine more would have joined later. I'd have stayed longer but I also need to go out with Kristi tonight for a charity fundraiser.

He likes horror movies but hasn't seen any of the black & white classics. He thought the Psycho remake was awful, but didn't know it was a remake. I told him the original is a horror classic but he refused to watch the trailer because it was black & white. Oh well, at least I tried.

I never robbed, killed or f**ked thy neighbors wife ( well, once-but he did't care- he was in the house, in a different room f**king someone else, but that's a whole different tale!).
I don't need a God to tell me what's right and wrong. I knew that was wrong going into it-and I never did it again. Nothing bad ever came off it. I felt dirty and evil. I did not like that. But it wasn't dirty or evil. I had been raised as a Christian by scumbags who hung crosses on the wall and did awful things. So yeah. I have no use for religion.

Most religion is a toxic crock cooked up to control peolle. Christianity tells us we all deserve to be tortured in fire forever because we're  born "in sin". People who've never harmed anyone and helped others deserve to suffer the same hell as Hitler because we're all as bad as him as far as the christian god is concerned.

That is just to utterly idiotic it fills me with disgust. If the christian god thinks anyone who SNCF "saved" (I. E. Accepts the christian god's control over their life)  is the same as Hitler or station then he's too stupid to have created the universe. Therefore  he is not true.

They claim their big bad god can't tell the difference between Hitler and someone who simply isn't saved. Well,  I can. Therefore the christian god is inferior to me in terms of perception and judgement . Since I can't create the universe a being inferior to me in terms of perception and judgement couldn't  either.

I've met plenty of people who had deep beliefs in the Christian faith, and that helped them a lot through their lives. If I have to describe myself, I would say I'm an agnostic person, so we talked about their theism and even when they simply couldn't explain their faith to me, I understood why the had it.

Judging an entire religion just because of a couple of agenda-driven scammers it's a huge mistake. You can pretty much disregard every single idea in the world because of this. There's always going to be bad people in every group, no matter what.

Itcs not just a few people. The majority of evangelical Christians voted for trump despite him being a walking billboard for behavior their bible condemns. They attacked obama for everything and trump for nothing. The majorotymofm Christians who voted voted trump.

That alone proves that  when rubber meets road Christians are more concerned with worldly power and forcing their agenda  on others than they are about spiritual matters. They see trump as a tool to force the christian agenda on america so he could rape children and they'd support him.
