The bit where...

...Michael Ironside makes someone's head explode in scanners.
...Sharon Stone crosses her legs in Basic Instinct.
...A fly crawls into Rene Belloq's mouth in Raiders of the Lost Ark

Empire (UK film mag) had a feature on the "20 most paused moments on VHS"
They only asked around their office though, the lazy slackers.

So... What bits of the films in your collection did you have to see paused?

Of the bad movies, I'd say the microphone appearing over Dolemite is a fine moment to pause, as is the brief transformation of a dinosaur into a hand in Carnosaur.

A good movie moment I've paused a few times was the ending of Vanishing Point, where Kowalski says hello to the bulldozers. Interesting to watch it frame by frame.

on, in The Fifth Element, I paused and slow motioned the scene where the girl breaks through the glass, you could see where the glass was already cut.
