I caught parts of a few interesting films on cable this March that I hope to finish someday when they come back on. Here are the ones I'm remember:

JEOPARDY (1953) - Saw the last 30 minutes of this film. It stars Barbara Stanwick in a film that is a bit like THE HITCHIKER (1953) and THE SADIST (1963). The only difference is the film raises the question would you do anything to save your husband. Stanwicks husband is caught under a post on a beach and the tide is coming in. Stanwick is abducted by a convict and makes a deal with the criminal in order to help her husband. Movie takes place in Mexico. Stanwick is a very good actress and always a pleasure to watch.

WILLIE DYNAMITE (1974) - Encore channel showed this one and I could only watch about 15 minutes of it. It's about a very "fashionable" pimp and an ex-prostitute trying to help the other girls get out of the business.

UNTAMED (1955) - I thought I was looking at a Western when I realised that wagon train was in South Africa when Zulu warriors appeared much like in the film ZULU (60's). No red jacketed british, but they circle the wagon train like in the old West. Interesting. Hope to catch it again.

COMANCHE STATION (1960) - This looks like a good Randolf Scott Western. The cinematography and story look very good. Hope they show it again. The only thing I saw was Randolf Scott trading some goods and his rifle for a white captive woman.

JERSEY GIRL (1992) - Encore played this romantic story about a Jersey City girl falling in love with a up and coming company man from Manhattan. Story and leading female were interesting. Found myself watching most of it. Some moments your saying come on that's dumb, but you keep watching.

Here's What I've seen this past month;

6 Days in Roswell- Starring Rich Kronfeld from "Let's Bowl" done by the same people who did the movie "trekkies" it's follows Rich's 6 days in Roswell, NM  during the anniversary of the sacer landing.  Unlike Trekkies, the weird people in this did not make for Funny viewing.  It was kinda boring, but OK if you want to see a weird documentry.

Intacto- spanish flick subtitled. Plot of the movie is people are blessed with miraculous luck and they compete in games of chance for prizes. The Hero was the only survivor of a plane crash, and the villian was the only survivor of a nazi death camp. The plot reminds me a lot of Highlander and that's basically what it is except it's a little more "artsy".  The plot intrigued me, the story lacked something, but overall i'd say thumbs in the middle.

Second Hand Lions- not my pick, but honestly it was really enjoyable. It's a Princess Bride for the 2000's.

Saturn 3- A Movie from my Childhood That just seemed to be on TV all the time- like Saturday the 14th, Battle Beyond the Stars when i was growing up.  Was on IFC a few nights ago And It's Holds up pretty well today. I was suprised that Harvey Keitel was the villian in it. I honestly Hadn't seen this movie since 1985 or so. Very nice to see it again.

Blade 2- The last of the G. Del Toro movies I needed to see before Hellboy comes out.  decent, and it hypes Hellboy that much more for me.

The Hulk- Out of all the recent Marvel Comic movies this one I wanted to see the least. I had the DVD a week before I chose to watch it.  Thought it was ok, The Action was great, the Acting was OK, but The stupid 70's split screen Panels That were throughout the whole movie really annoyed me. I understand the look is to make it look more like a comic book, they they over killed the novelty at the begining of the flick for me.  Parts of it were slow to me, and I thought the villian was lame.  I didn't enjoy it.

Yea, that SATURN 3 has pop up a few time on different topics here. Farah Fawcett, Kirt Douglas, and Harvey Keitel. Memorable film for some reason.

I think the appeal is Faraj's boobs and of course  Hector the horny robot.  Pretty cheesy effects however , even for the 70"s. Outland came out the same year I believe and was much better.

I finally saw all of Field of Dreams the other night. It was one of those movies I always managed to catch only a snippet of here and there.  This and  The Natural are my favorite baseball movies.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

"Jeopardy" Seen a little bit of it myself, but not all of it.

"Willie Dynamite" Never seen it, but typical blaxploitation film of that era. Must every black man be a private eye, pimp, or drug dealer?

"Untamted" Seen it. Remember little about it, except I seemed to enjoy it.

"Comanche Station" One of those Randolph Scott made with  director Budd Boetticher. They are all worth checking out, if one likes westerns.

"Jersey Girl" Never seen it. No comment.
