Regardless, sad to see him go.  He certainly came up with some gems.

Well, that's a bummer. At one time, "Re-Animator" was the goriest, nastiest movie I'd ever seen in my young life. There are some scenes from that film which are burned into my psyche forever.

Plus, he directed one of my favorite Giant Robot Movies ever (Robot Jox)!
