I watched Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny last night...because why not

there are multiple issues with this:

when a movie has Santa in the title, one might think the North Pole and reindeer will appear in it

neither show up in this...thing

instead, Santa is on a  beach with this sleigh really stuck underneath the sand right before Christmas

somehow using telekinsis, while Santa was sleeping, he recruited some local kids to try and help him

when those kids were arriving they caught the attention of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn -- they follow the kiddos to see Santa, but don't help

the kids attempts to help didn't work --- Santa don't them not to give up and keep faith

then he tells them the story of Jack and the Beanstalk --- because reasons

following this, randomly, the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk is being unfolded in the middle of the film

it takes up much more of the run time  then the story of Santa being stuck in the sand

And damn it, there was nothing to indicate the bunny in the film was in fact an ice cream bunny

this thing made no sense

also, there is singing like every 5-10 minutes --- which is a lot for a movie that isn't a musical

it gets 0 ice cream bunnies out of 5

claws

well, wiki claim it is indeed a musical

QuoteSanta and the Ice Cream Bunny is a 1972 American musical fantasy film written, composed, shot, edited and directed by R. Winer to frame Barry Mahon's Childhood Productions films for a Christmas release. The threadbare plot concerns Santa Claus' attempts to free his sleigh from the sands of a Florida beach, assisted by local children.

It is awful alright. I watched this on youtube many years ago. Never again  :buggedout:

Is that the movie in which you can also see the story of this nice looking Thumbelina getting harassaded by weird creatures?

The version where Santa tells the kids the story of Thumbelina is better than the one where he tells Jack and the Beanstalk. It has much more "Pirates World" product placement.

That's the one I seen. At the end a guy in a bunny suit is driving a fire engine with a bunch of screaming rug rats in tow. Does some s**t or another. It was difficult to follow, and I was stoned too.

I was looking around on ebay for monster movie photos to use for my blog- when I came upon this-

I wouldn't have thought such a slip shod production would put up the $ for lobby cards!

Two versions, yes. To pad it to feature length, Santa tells the kids a story in the middle of the story and we cut to about 1/2 hour of footage from another kids' movie Barry Mahon owned had the rights to. In one it's THUMBELINA, in the other it's JACK AND THE BEANSTALK. Now that's kidsploitation!

Not to mention, it's an add for a s**tty park disguised as a "movie".  :tongueout:

Seems to me the gorilla could pull the sleigh out easily from a couple of inches of sand...at least if Santa got his fat ass off the thing.

I think it would be a better ending if the gorilla throttled Santa, along with the Ice Cream Bunny and his cult of rabid little bastards!

Most importantly, they're both bad.  As in:   Either version is much more fun to ridicule than to watch.  Insufferably boring bad.  Just plain boring.
