yeah, the 71 minute jem about Tobanga the tree monster. thought it was a half-decent flick when I first saw it decades ago on nyc channel 5's saturday morning b movie slot.
sure the tree monster is silly but it still works for me. professionally made with some good sci-fi thrills.the native babes are hoddees

Me love some TABONGA!!!  Aye!  Madonga!
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

The Burgomaster

I remember reading a summary or review of this movie many years ago (I think it might have been in TV Guide). It said FROM HELL IT CAME: To hell with it.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

FROM HELL IT CAME was on TCM yesterday afternoon.

I think it's sad that Master Monster Maker Paul Blaisdell, who actually wore most of the costumes he made- got p**sed on and dumped by AIP.  :bluesad:

He made the monsters for-

.the BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES (1955)
.the DAY THE WORLD ENDED (1955) *
.IT CONQUERED THE WORLD (1956)*
.NOT OF THIS EARTH (1957)
.the SHE CREATURE (1956) *
.INVASION OF THE SAUCER MEN (1957)
.VOODOO WOMAN (1957)*
.FROM HELL IT CAME (1957)
.GHOST OF DRAG STRIP HOLLOW (1958) *

* He was in the monster suit too!

I love the  super hilariously bad way the tree monster looks
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

I believe in the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

It is the Tabonga! Everybody walk away now! No need to hurry!
"Once you get past a certain threshold, everyone's problems are the same: fortifying your island and hiding the heat signature from your fusion reactor."

I really like the monsters actual design but seeing it in motion it's far less cool.

'motion' is a very relative term here.

I thought this was a decent movie, even if the bad guy was a bit... wooden.
