Just saw this the other night with Tiana.
Wow! Amazing!
No real blood and gore- but dam suspenseful!
The lead actress-Elisabeth Moss- does a great job as the tormented wife of a crazed scientist who fakes his death. Of course everyone thinks she's nuts!
Great job, Universal!
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

I'm getting a little tired of watching Elizabeth Moss suffering all the time, but I agree it is a very good film. The re-reading of the old plot from the point of view of the ex-wofe works fine, and there are plenty of suspenseful scenes. Should have gotten more attention when it was released, but I guess most critics -and viewers- are tired of films that promise a feminist reboot of anything.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I saw this one in the theaters with my daughter and really enjoyed it, especially the twist at the end!

To be fair it made like 130 million off a 7 million dollar budget. That's a good amount of attention and a very tidy profit! Well crafted, ending didn't quite land for me but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

Really? I didn't know it had been such a success. We might even get a sequel, then.

Director Leigh Whannell has had an interesting path and gives a good view of moderately low budget horror and what it can do at the box office.  His three directorial films have a combined $35 million budget and a $259 million take.

But dang, as a writer....  10 films with known budgets and box office.  Total budget combined: $72.7 million.  Total box office combined: $1.12 BILLION

Suffice to say he can probably make more if he wants to.

I don't give a rat's ass how much $ it made. I liked it.
