Thank you for supplying great music to some of my favourite movies.

He wrote some of the most compelling soundtracks, and to movies that I love.

Morricone's soundtracks and influences were even wider than I thought. The first Morricone soundtrack I heard was probably Good/Bad/Ugly, but I may have heard Fistful Of Dollars (1964) earlier.

Red Sonja (1985) was another Morricone movie I watched as a kid. And I loved a particular Morricone soundtrack, but didn't know it was one of his until years and years later. As a kid in the 80s, I was fascinated with a Hong Kong action movie called The Secret Rivals (1976), and little did I know that the main theme was actually from The Big Gundown (1966).

His soundtrack for The Mission (1986) is just soooooo good. I saw this as part of a school excursion for History.

I had no idea he did the soundtrack for Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down (1990), the movie I saw on my first date with my first girlfriend.
