The Associate Justice of the Supreme Court appointed by President Clinton passed away at the age of 87.
While I disagreed with her on many matters of governmental policy, I admired her feisty spirit and personal integrity.
I also liked the fact that her closest friend on the court was her polar opposite in judicial philosophy, Justice Antonin Scalia.

Here's to the example they set: That political and ideological adversaries need not be enemies, and that Americans who differ from us are still Americans.
Good night, Ruth, and rest well.

I thought that was a nice summation, indy.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg is and always will be a credit to the judicial system and an example of what it can and should be.

I am proud of the lady, and a longtime admirer.  Good night RUTH, you warranted the respect any person could muster.  God bless you!

well, obviously Roe v Wade is now on the front burner. It's not considered a brilliant decision. At the same time, 70% of Americans don't want it overturned. From what I've been reading, look for Trump to nominate a relative moderate.

Look up Judge Amy Coney Barrett. The right is really pushing for her as a frontrunner to replace Ginsburg because Barrett is a pro-lifer. Yet apparently even Barrett believes that Roe Vs Wade will not be overturned even if she were appointed to the Supreme Court. It doesn't really matter much anyway because abortion clinics are never going to go away regardless. Roe vs Wade has only ever been used as a scare tactic to get more liberal judges nominated and appointed in federal courts; it was never about the abortions themselves when you think about it.

Interesting.

I've long said that neither political party seriously wants to abolish abortion - it's too useful to them as a recruiting tool.

If she was too sick to do her job the last year or so, she should have stepped down. Work ethic 101.
