Best Version of Les Misérables

I had to watch some clips of that god awful version of Les Misérables by Tom Hooper that had Russel Crowe as Javert. Yuck.

Anyone know a good version of Les Misérables? I'd like to have an introduction to it that isn't awful. I've never seen any version of Les Misérables.
