ER

One of the few movies I've watched lately, this is one which seems more inspiring with each viewing. (I believe this made the fourth time I'd watched it.) It's a special sort of film through and through.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

ANTHONY QUINN is always a pleasure to watch.  I like the philosophy of that movie and its prescience.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Yeah I <3 that movie too and found it remarkable that it predicted the election of a non-Italian from behind the Iron Curtain.  I've thought of Kyril as what John Paul I would have been like had he lived longer.

The Burgomaster

I worked in a video rental store when this was released on VHS. We had a big-screen TV (so ancient and obsolete by today's standards) and we'd play movies and trailers all day. Every time the Shoes of the Fisherman trailer came on, we'd start saying (in deep voices) "The Shoooooooes of the Fisherman." I'm not sure why, but it seemed funny at the time . . .

Yeah I remember the old big screen TVs.  Those were big old monsters.  Never had any of those though I think some of my relatives did.   Parents never felt the need to have anything that big and heavy in the house.
