Nope.  Taking place at Christmas time doesn't automatically make it a Christmas movie.

and not wanting to reunite the family for Christmas does not make it a Christmas movie...(raise middle finger)

What the hell?  beat_truck simply voiced an opinion!   Didn't you invite us all to do such?

"Also" a joke?  You fool no one.  Rude is rude.  And don't call me "cupcake".

I sure as hell didn't take is as a joke.  That was just being nasty, and it was uncalled for.

unnecessary attitude made the baby jesus cry...

The movie's set at Christmas, but I don't remember enough Christmasy mise-en-scène to affect the film's feel. So, if I were to vote, based on what I remember of the movie, I'd vote no.

Seeing that this is a contentious subject, & since I've not seen the movie for a long time, I've decided to refrain from voting for the time being.

Sounds like a plan.

Adult Jesus should have learned that from when He was a kid. His unnecessary attitude allowed Him to break the law and it got Him killed. I wonder if He was a juvee as a teenager? You know, running around the countryside turning innocent people's well water into wine, raising dead relatives just to scare the bejesus out of their families, etc. I mean, that rebellious attitude toward authority figures had to come from somewhere:smile:
First rule is, 'The laws of Germany'
Second rule is, 'Be nice to mommy'
Third rule is, 'Don't talk to commies'
Fourth rule is, 'Eat kosher salamis'

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Rather keep this topic going without it devolving even more than it has already done.
yeah no.

People seem split on this one. I've seen countless threads like this over the years on message boards. Which tells me that yeah, people seem split on this one.

Other classic mind boggling questions:

Are Jaws and The Silence of the Lambs horror movies?
Is Alien 3 the best Alien sequel?
Is Exorcist II better than its reputation?
Is Psycho the first slasher movie?
Is Friday the 13th part 2 better than the first one?

I don't fit either side of your split.  Sure, it's a Christmas movie.  Doesn't mean I want to watch it at Christmas.  Doesn't LETHAL WEAPON open with a Christmas suicide...?  Whether it does or not, I don't wanna look at that one on Christmas either.

Last night, TCM had on BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) which is "Christmasy" but also one I don't want for Christmas.

I always just found it a boring run of the mill action movie.
