I think I posted this about a year ago so I'm doing it again! I think the best giant monster battles are

Gamera vs. Gyaos in Gamera Guardian of the Universe

Any battle with the original MechaGodzilla from Terror of MechaGodzilla and Godzilla vs Cosmic/Bionic Monster/MechaGodzilla

King Ghidorah vs A bunch of Toho monster from Destroy All Monsters

Both Monster Battles in Godzilla vs Mothera

Gamera vs. Barugon from Gamera vs. Barugon (I like it because this could have been the first Giant Monster Battle I ever saw ,or maybe it was the one with the Hedorah, but there should have been more fighting between the two monsters.)

Godzilla vs Smog Monster (Long Battle, might have been the first Giant Monster Battle I ever saw, maybe even my first Godzilla movie.)

King Kong vs T-Rex from King Kong (Classic battle)

Godzilla vs King Ghidorah from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. It was neato! and NO stock footage!

Worst/least favorite

Gamera vs Zigra. I remeber hating this one but on the plus side Gamera's flame breath actually did something other than useing it to p**s off the other monster.

Godzilla vs Mothera and King Ghidorah. The fighting's good but there's WAY too much talking in between the scenes and that sort of takes away all the good from the action.

Godzilla and MOGERA vs Space Godzilla. I should give this one another shot but I remember being bored by it.

Godzilla and Anguirus vs. Gigan and King Ghidorha. Depending on the mood I'm in I can have fun watching this but as an movie it loses it because of the stock footage from Destroy all Monsters, Three Headed Monster ect.

All the fights from Super Monster Gamera. I admit I haven't seen this one but if the fights in the movie are totally made up of stock footage battles then it's a complete loser, even if this is footage from the greatest fights ever it would still lose.

Yongarry vs Aliens Pet Monster thing. I hate CGI monsters and I hate CGI monster fights. Enough said (and it was boring)

Godzilla and Minya vs Spiega. Kinda hard to get a good fight out of a monster that only spits web and has a dart in it's mouth. Now Godzilla vs. Giant Mantis is better because he kicks their asses so easyly (Now I want to see Son of Godzilla again just for the Mantiss)

All right that's about it. What are your favorite/best, worst/least favorite giant monster battles (I just realized I need to watch more (good) American monster movies.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

I really like the fight sequence in Godzilla v. Gigan.  I love how Godzilla gets his ass kicked and then comes back and wins.  I think Bruce Willis was in the costume for that movie.

I also enjoy the fact that Anguirus is in the movie.  His sole purpose in any movie is to get his butt kicked.  What a side kick.

Here's some of my picks:
Godzilla vs. Angilas ("Gigantis the Fire Monster"): Yeah, the fights were shot at the wrong camera speed and look sped up on screen, but the action is pretty cool. The monsters thrash around like real wild animals, and alot of the time it's tough to see who has the upper hand (claw?) Probably Angilas' best combat  moment.

Giant Frankenstein vs. Baragon ("Frankenstein Conquers the World"): A lengthy fight with some awesome moments. I especially like the part where "Frank" does sort of a dive roll OVER Baragon's back to attack him from behind. The wrap-up is great, too, with the struggling titans amid a flaming forest.

Gamera vs. Gyaos ("Return of the Giant Monsters"): Just a fun movie altogether, with the two monsters frequently shedding each other's blood during the fights. My first "Gamera" movie, so maybe I'm biased.

Dragon vs. Cyclops ("The 7th Voyage of Sinbad"): The coolest of the Harryhausen monster battles. Some of the others are up there (Gwangi vs. Styracosaurus, Griffin vs. Centaur, etc.) but I think this is the runaway champ.

And the giant monster battle I would most like to see:
1960's Yongary vs. Guilala (with a special, last-minute guest ass-kicking by Gappa!)

Flangepart

G Vs. Baragon In G-KGM,ALL M.A. When G toarched Baragon...imagin what that smelled like? Woowee!
Turtle Vs. Bird in Gamera , G of the U. I second that one....but since Gamera only lives on Earth, whos actualy lookin' out for said "Universe"?
G. Vs. Biolante. Who knew a plant could be so mean?
G. Vs.Angilas In "Godzilla returns". Yeah, he got toasted in the end, but old spikey went down like a trooper.

"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"

What  was the name of the one with the twin monsters (one was green and lived on land and the other one I think was reddish brown or orange and liked the water)?

Anyway, those were two of the worst rubber suits I ever remember seeing in a  Japanese giant monster flick.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

The brown one was good and lived on land, the green one was bad and lived in the sea. That's War of the Garganutas which is actually a sequal to Frankenstein Conquers the World. Now I want to see WotG again also.

I had them backwards, man I haven't seen that movie in years.  I  always hated the way the Japanese King Kong looked too, like the rubber suit had been in a fire or something.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

This is my pick for best battle.

I loved War of the Gargantuas
