Oh- and how many Ben Hur masks do you see? Compared to Tor Johnson?
They may be better movies- but they are not more popular in 2021.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Gabriel Knight

Seen a couple but in MST3K format. BRIDE OF THE MONSTER is pretty bad but I have to admit that Lugosi's monologues are awesome. What a powerful and commanding voice he had.
Check my crappy and unpopular reviews and ratings:

In fact, I'll bet dollars to donuts that this film has had more viewings than ANY film made in the 1950's.

NOT   A   CHANCE.

Actually, your right. Disney cartoons have been seen by half the people on planet Earth.

Godzilla too. After that...I dunno...

And I bet there's a lot more rednecks with John Wayne ceramic statues on top of their end tables that I have seen more than anything.
Got  beer cans stacked up in the corner of his living room like a pyramid.

:bouncegiggle:  An old friend of mine said to me about 30 years ago when her dad died (who liked JOHN WAYNE) to stop giving him john wayne plates mugs busts and CRAP!!!   :bouncegiggle:  I think he said to her: "I'm not queer for him!"    A cool NJ redneck vet who married Italian girl he met in WWII...

You inform me Ron, there is truth in what you said.  Methods of delivery have changed drastically, so it's so much easier to look at anything (particularly crap 'cause that's what I've long used the internet to look at).

^ Yeah- good and popular are not the same thing. These polls are based on what garbage people watch. "Good" is a personal thing.
PATHS OF GLORY is a Mona Lisa- PLAN 9 is a comic book.
I don't have a print of da Vinci on the wall. I do have a BRIDE OF THE MONSTER lobby card hanging on the wall.
More folks look at comic book s**t then they do art.

I respect people like Jack Kirby more than I do Jackson Pollock- some jerk off who just threw paint on a wall and calls it "art".
I am kinda a cartoonist myself, and it takes focus on what your doing to draw a cartoon. Pollack kinda s**t is...I dunno. I don't see the appeal. I just think rich people make themselves feel better by buying garbage from poor talentless artists who throw paint around who live in the East Village tried to make themselves cool by making themselves into an "elite"....

I'm really high.
