Allhallowsday

Trekgeezer was one of my favorite members.  Generous, thoughtful, funny, I was wondering what happened to him.  We all love you!

Sorry to hear that.  His screaming Kirk "Menaaaarrrddd!!" GIF always made me laugh.

Not many old timers left here any more.

Oh, no . . . not Trekgeezer. He was a pillar of this community.  :bluesad:

You know what we should do? Each of us tosses in a hundred bucks a year into an account and we form a sort of BMDO tontine: the last person alive gets it all.

C'mon, I could use a big windfall to cheer me up when you are all gone!

^.... that's in no way funny.
He was one of the kindest people I ever met on this board.
Why would you even say something like that?
That's just callus and stupid.

This outrage from the man who said "f**k him" about a dead guy last month?

I didn't say anything about Trekgeezer. And when is a tontine supposed to be proposed, during a birthday? They celebrate life and death, past and future, and have an element of remembrance in them as the last survivor looks to those who went before. They're associated with wakes, if you didn't know, especially Irish wakes, and I'm involved in two of them, one going back in college. They're also a subtle encouragement to good health and the quest for long life, and whenever someone involved in the tontine dies, he is remembered by those remaining. The item that passes to the last one alive, liquor, money, a regimental object in the case of old soldiers, is both a consolation and a rewarding tribute to a long life, and comes with responsibilities.

Jeez... You never heard of that kind of tontine?  Survivor takes all?

No I never have heard of tontine. And it sounds stupid. I'm not from Ireland. And neither are you. Your from  Ohio, I'm from Michigan.

And what "dead guy" did I say  "f**k him" last month?
Would that be Rush Limbaugh?
This was Trek Geezer, a good friend. On line and off. One of the first people I met here over 14 years ago- not some self serving political mouthpiece who made millions spreading lies to try and overthrow the government.
You can have anything I own when I die- if it serves your need for money, ok? Happy?

RC, if your karma is turned off, isn't it double-dipping to hit someone else's?

I didn't say anything disrespectful whatsoever about your friend, RC, (such a good friend it took you over a year to hear he was dead) and what I wrote didn't have anything to do with him. It was mentioned there are few old timers left, and I joked about how we should see who among us is the last one left. Never stopped to think about that? I doubt it'll be you. I can't help if you don't know what a tontine is, but I'm not surprised, considering you don't know the difference in your and you're either.

For all your childish posts about gore and killing you can be as sensitive as somebody's old ninny grandma, you know it?

And actually I am Irish. I am a citizen of the Republic of Ireland. I pay taxes there, I own property there, I can vote there, I can get medical care there, and nearly all of my family lives there. I've spent years of my life there. I was recently offered a job there for after my upcoming retirement this year. Don't know if I'll take it but it would involve a long-term relocation to that country. That and five bucks will get me a Happy Meal!

As for needing money, well, no, but thank you, I've been able to prosper thanks to keeping myself out of jail, not being a drunk, getting a good education, and working my ass off since I was a teenager. As a result, hey, not one of my children has ever had to be homeless.

You just proved my point.

Your a pompous ass.

As far as karma goes- yeah, I turned mine off more than 10 years ago.
If you had at the time I wouldn't be giving you bad karma. It's not my fault your an egotistical blowhard.

This was about a dead friend. Not your homely "wisdom".

As far as you being Irish- I don't give a flying f**k if your the daughter of God. Your still a pompous a***ole.
And your personal insults will get you no where. My kids make good money at good jobs.
I AM a drunk!
But I still manage to be smarter than you. And I don't mean your book smart collage type. You may be able to quote Bible scripture, but I'm sure if someone pulled a gun on you, you would be clueless. Your a child.
You post on BAD movies- but you know nothing about BAD movies. Your a fake.
Most of your posts are just you trying to prove how smart you are. You ain't fooling me.

And I am done here with you. BYE!

Guns have been pulled on me, RC and I'm still alive. You might be surprised at parts of my life.

Oh, but I am glad your son's not homeless anymore. Jed, wasn't it? Lived in his car to get motivated to get a job?

You got a chip on your shoulder where I'm concerned, Ron, always coming after me and it's a shame.

Guys, I didn't know Trekgezzer, but can we drop this arguing and get back to it being a memorial thread please. I will kindly ask both of you to stop arguing here and if you wish to pursue it please do it via personal messages.
