3 days ago I badly sprained my ankle because I'm clumsy as hell   :hatred:

I got a walker to help me get around

ER staff said to stay off my feet for a  while.. hoping this will get good enough should I get selected for one of the summer school gigs I put in for

sort of... it's not great, but it's betterish

I don't think  it's good enough for me to work should I get selected for one of the summer school gigs I put in for, or put in for 3 new ones that were avilable  as of a few days ago

I badly sprained my ankle playing basketball in my early 20s and it's never been the same since. In fact, I turned it again over the weekend and it was really sore for about 24 hours (still sore now, in fact, if I press on it).
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Allhallowsday

Best of luck with your recovery.  We are all rooting for you!

yeah man i'm sorry to hear that i hope it heals fast, they say sprains are worse than if you break it i've broken plenty of bones in my lifetime i dunno if it is worse but it still hurts like a mofo either way. at least you didn't sprain yours like i did in 4th grade it was winter time and snow of course was on the ground, i say it like that since here in ohio there are times in winter when there is no snow.

so before anyone says of course there's snow in winter you'd be right but than we've also had weather in December and Jan. where it was warm enough that i am able to open my window to let some air in my room. anyways, i'm rambling sorry about that in 4th grade me and this kid whose name i honestly don't remember the best way to say it is we looked at each other and we both started to turn away from each other and we both slipped on the snow and he fell on top of me i dunno why it ended up that way we hadn't i don't think spoken to each other or we may have i don't honestly remember but i ended spraining my ankle and it hurt like a mofo.  i have a high threshold of pain so i can take it even in 4th grade i get that from my dad and that's one thing that does come in handy at times lol.

but if you want a laugh my mom's an RN and i had splint on my ankle no sock we didn't realize until later on we could have used one. i have no idea why it never occurred to her but i had asked actually. though i do remember throwing a football in Gym class and it was the best throw i've ever done in my life.
i don't think my ankle has been the same either since i think i later broke it as well i've broken or sprained so many things in my life i sometimes lose track and it's not age either i was losing track in my teens and 20's.   all i can say is make sure you lay on your back when you go to bed and have a pillow underneath your foot. make sure you take some pain pills and something to help ya sleep too

skateboarder here. I've had tons of injuries. Always a learning experience and take it as a challenge. figure out what you can and can't do and focus on the former. make an amazing croquet course, travel to Popeyes and chick fil a and compare their chicken sandwiches, invest stupid amounts of time into beating a video game. adapt in the grand manner

good advice though don't go eat chicken too much lol but if you are a gamer like i am it's a good way to kill an afternoon  :teddyr:

I acquired a walking cane from a neighbor who no longer needs it after hurting herself badly a while ago

it helps, much better then walking very gingerly

whatever helps man as long as you can get to point A to Point B that's all that matters

bob

I no longer have black and blue marks on my foot

I can kind of walk without the use of a cane so long as the surface I'm walking on is smooth and even

I drove today for the first time since I sprained my ankle, that went ok
