"Yeah, HollyWood does stink. But hey, Peter Jackson is working on a re-make of King Kong, which is cool!"

Yes and no.  I'm confident he will do a good job...  but it doesn't need to be done.  Close to 70 years later, the original Kong is freaking awesome - very atmospheric and scarey.  So why doesn't Jackson direct his creative energies toward redoing something that hasn't been done right yet (as he did with LOTR), or better yet, why doesn't he wow us with something completely original??

Check this link out. This is one is a true classic and a remake is just plain sacreligious.

I agree with the source, What the hell would Don Siegel think?

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

A remake of Dirty Harry? There goes more of my childhood out the window. My early years were already stomped on with the remake of Planet of the Apes and now they're going to do this to Dirty Harry? They should just know when to leave well enough alone.

You're not the Devil...You're practice.

The Burgomaster

First, a remake of WALKING TALL.  Now, a remake of DIRTY HARRY?  What's next, a remake of ROCKY starring The Rock?

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

"What's next, a remake of ROCKY starring The Rock?"

Yeah - this time Rockey beats Creed in the first fight.

I agree with all but one on your list...

Leave Buckaroo Banzai alone!

Great.....I like The Rock and Ben Bratt but no one can do this justice.  If they have to remake a Dirty Harry flick, let it be "Sudden Impact."  That one had a great idea that did not translate well, mostly b/c Sandra Locke sucked and the two leads don't really interact until the last scene!
