One of the stranger nicer friendships I acquired in 2021 is with someone still in her teens. I tell her to cherish her grandma while she has her, and she tells me to resist my tendency to "overanalyze stuff" and enjoy life for what it is. I think we're both right, as age brings experience but youth has wisdom as well. The guy she likes is a lot like one I knew when I was her age, and I hope in her case it turns out happier than the complex madness of my love did. I was talking to him the other night and it felt so much like a time warp I am still thinking about it. Deja-vu all over again. In fact there are a lot of similarities between this girl and me. Like I said, it's strange nice, and I value knowing her, even if she is only a few years older than my daughter.

I remember some comic pointing out that in the 60s they believed in sex, drugs and rock n' roll, but the 80s proved that without the sex and drugs, rock n' roll just isn't that good.

I don't know, a lot of '80s music sounds pretty good to me, but I do think Sam Kinison got it right when he said rockers against drugs was like Christians against Christ.

Well, if it is any indication, my septuagenarian neighbor got mad at me for standing outside her bedroom window after just five minutes last night.
