My family is on vacation, but I didn't get home in time to go. They're at this supposedly awesome place, fun, fun, fun, its very name is a byword for a good time.

Well my son just called me and said I hate this trip and everything about it because you're not with us. I wish I wasn't here, I wish I was home with you.

Wow, what a blue ribbon mom moment. He'd rather be with me than a world-famous resort! Despite my worries, I guess I must be doing something right in the parent department after all.

I think I'm going to do a happy dance now!

I'm thankful for many things today. The love that I have and give, my health, my life in a country whose birthday is tomorrow. But maybe most of all I am thankful God omitted pain receptors in hair.

Spent the first half of my Sunday sitting up at the hospital with my MIL, trying to keep her from pulling out her O2 and Picc lines and climbing out of the bed to walk home (she can't cross a room without a walker!).
NOT my idea of a day of rest!

We were speaking to Kristi's best friend back in the US who has just had a baby and congratulating her.  When she was wished happy 4th of July she replied "Yeah, turns out it isn't working out so great for us. Any chance we can come back under England?"

Sorry lass, but they've got their own huge multiple messes to deal with too. I wouldn't go there if I were you.

My sympathies to those who have just lost loved ones in the latest mass shooting and to those who have lost their lives. Just saw it on the news.
