The Wheel of Time adaptations sucked.

The Witcher series did not hold my interest.

Star Trek has been hijacked.

Amazon's LOTR trailer adds fuel to the fires of my worst suspicions.

I've written off The Sandman.

Only in the GOT prequel do I have any faint hope.

I'm sad to say we have slipped from a recent golden age of TV to one of tin. At least we have good shows and books from yesteryear.

This concludes today's emoting about a first world problem.

I agree on WHEEL OF TIME.
THE WITCHER might be worth another go - I really enjoyed it.
I liked ST: PICARD, was indifferent to DISCOVERY, and have yet to see a single episode of STRANGE NEW WORLDS.
As for the other 3, I'm going to give each a chance and let y'all know what I think.

Oh, and the new Interview with the Vampire. Why not just stick an ice pick in our souls now and call it a day?

That one doesn't interest me in the least!

As a Trekkie / Trekker from years back, I promise never ever to watch a single episode of Star Trek Picard or Star Trek Discovery  :tongueout: :tongueout:

The Wheel of Time adaptations sucked.

I never built up the nerve to see this one. Robert Jordan could be pretty hit and miss with Wheel of Time. When he was good, he was Good. But when he was bad, he was BAAAAAD. My gut kept telling me that they'd jack up the horribleness. So I ended up ignoring the notices in my Amazon Video app.

Going live action instead of animated was a poor choice. The fourteen volumes in the series take place over a period of two and a half years. Even if they were able to competently edit down the more sloggy volumes (especially Crossroads of Twilight), the actors would soon age out of their roles. This would be a big problem in particular with Olver, the war orphan Mat ends up adopting in Lord of Chaos.
