I saw a George Bush ad where they used a picture of my favorite character Wolfwood from Trigun and call him a member of the Japanese Yakuza. For shame on there lack of comic book characters. Double shame on them for being as filthy as Moore and take cheap shots at people.

"Trigun, eh? Never heard of it before. Sounds like some sort of weapon of mass destruction!"

My 21 year old son loves this Japanese stuff.   I think he has the whole Trigun  series on DVD as well as several other  series (Cowboy Bebop for one, which I enjoyed too).   For anyone who wants to know what Nicholas D. Wolfwood looks like click here:         Nicholas D. Wolfwood

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I'm confused.  Why in the world would the Bush administration put up a picture of Wolfwood and call him a member of the yakuza?  That's bizarre.

Do you have a link to this?
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I love the song at the end of Trigun. Voting for Bush with clenched teeth again.

Me!

Having seen that series myself, I can fairly safely say that's not Wolfwood. To be sure, the guy does look similar and I wouldn't doubt that the artist probably had Wolfwood in mind when he drew this character, but even a casual glance shows that this is original art. In any case, you're over-reacting.

Michael Moore gave us pictures of a wonderful, innocent Iraq about to be bombed into a war-torn hell when he knew damn well about all of the Kurds (men, women, and children) Saddam had gassed, all of the victims of his rape rooms and all of the other ghoulish horrors of that regime, and that the majority of Iraqis are far better off now than they ever were. Bush's artist (whoever he/she may be) drew up a picture, probably on a generic  request for a Yakuza.  Comparing the tactics of Bush with those of the Fat Bastard and the Two Johns is no comparison at all; Bush should repeat the old promise that if his enemies will stop telling lies about him, he'll stop telling the truth about them.

Not sure why this should be upsetting. I'm definitely against negative campaigning, but I think it's a little strange to be offended by the indirect defamation of an obscure cartoon character. I think if I saw a favourite anime character show up in a presidential campaign ad, I'd laugh my ass off, regardless of how he was used. It's actually pretty cool.
