I recently got misinterpreted as not comprehending pay phones in a thread. Listen: I understand pay phones. I used to call my own mother collect to have her pick me up from the train station after skateboarding all day.

What are some good movie scenes involving f**king pay phones?

Miracle Mile (1988) - a guy picks up a pay phone and the voice at the other end tells him the world is going to end due to I think nuclear armeggedon.

When DeNiro finds out Pesci's been whacked in GOODFELLAS

not a film but there's a great scene in GALACTICA 1980 where Kent McCord and Barry Van Dyke try to figure out how to use a payphone.

Just felt a strange urge to type actor names instead of character names there. Please hang up and try again

I remember seeing a short movie, guessing it was part of a series where a man gets trapped in a phone box. There are various attempts to get him out, but the box seems to resist all efforts at opening the door. Just as a fireman is about to smash the roof with a sledgehammer, a truck turns up to take the box away. Phone box and man are loaded onto the truck and go off through the city. The man however starts to panic when he see's another truck with a phonebox on the back and someone else trapped inside. From what I remember the show ended with him being placed in a cave with hundreds of other phoneboxes, all with someone trapped inside, some of whom have died of thirst, or killed themselves (I think someone strangled themselves with the telephone cable).
