one of my favorite scenes from the christmas episode of BOTTOM is when richie chops his index finger off with a cleaver. Eddie makes a turniquit by choking richie and then uses a staple gun to "sew" the finger back on...

then later the classic baby scene and the three "wise men" bearing..."gold...frankenstein...and grrrr"

I havent seen very many Bottom episodes because Ive onyl ever found one Bottom video, but it had the Christmas one on it... that was great :)
I havent seen the youngs ones in ages... I remeber really liking the episode where they had Madness play, and you got to meet Vivians mum.
I cant remember what my favorite was.... will have to go and watch them again now!

Fry: "Im having one of those things. You know, a headache, with pictures!"

The best Young Ones episode had to be the party that got out of hand. Lots of insanity going on in that episode, from realistic party misbehaviour to the bizarre, surreal and downright silly stuff that makes the show great. Laughed through the whole thing.

a) The Young Ones: Mmmm... That was ages ago, dude. But I remember one episode in which Vivian created a potion that turned whoever drank it into an axe murderer and Alexey Sayle drank it. Pretty good.

b) Bottom: Several. The one where they lose a bet and they camp in the wilderness, being stalked by a sex maniac was a riot, but also the one when they accidentally get hold of a british polititian sex tape. Oh, wait, or that one where they capture a burglar and they think they have killed him.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I remember that one. Hilarious. I also liked the one where they steal gas from the neighbours.

I'd forgotten about Alexei Sayle's preformances on the Young Ones. Loved the scene where he's petting the cactus. "Hello p***y cat. What you doin' in a bucket?" Then he pulls it out and sticks it to his chest. "Let's play Daleks! Exterminate!"

Now I've got to rent some of these episodes.

Mofo Rising

I only dimly remember this from when THE YOUNG ONES was on MTV.

One of the characters pushes a button on a remote, and the whole screen goes blank.

"What'd you do?"

"I turned off the TV."

"No you didn't, you turned off the whole show.  Quick, turn it on before that guy comes back."

At this point a guy in a business suit and an elephant mask jumps out and starts singing "Stop in the Name of Love".

That scene has been burned in my brain ever since.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

my favorite musical guests on the YOUNG ONES (musical guests were added as a ploy to qualify as a variety show and thus receive a larger budget) were MADNESS, DEXY's MIDNIGHT RUNNERS, and most definitely MOTORHEAD playing THE ACE OF SPADES!!!

regarding BOTTOM, apparently the "PARK CAMPING" episode was put on hold for several months after there was a real murder in the real park.
